Not quite sure...um, I know I was called to work with the youth this past year, especially the confirmation class. That was a truly awesome experience...watching these kids go from knowing just barely the basics of the Bible to knowing more about it and the various Christian holidays and about our denomination.

I've also been called to preach and share my faith journey with others. That starts out being very nervewracking to being very rewarding. Especially when someone comes up to you and says, "I know exactly what you were talking about. I've often thought of giving up, but hearing what you said made me rethink that choice."

Touching one person...that's all it takes.

I dunno........but at least I'm being honest. :) I am in a very child-like point in my faith, and have my feelers all over the place as I re-think and re-work my entire concept of God and what he wants for us as a Body and as individuals.

I am also searching for my calling and purpose in this life. I have a thirst for God and love to learn of him and serve him. I am waiting for God to confirm what I feel my calling is. I am afraid of being led by my feelings and finding myself out of the will of God. :confused:  :bow:

I have always felt called to the ministry of prophecy and healing. I identify a lot with Ezekiel. He was a priest in the temple and God showed him a lot of corruption. It really grieved him, esp. when people would perish in that corruption. So he did all he could to try and warn the people.

According to Peter, we are all called to the Holy Priesthood of God.

1 Peter 2:5
you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Yes!! I agree!

There was a girl who was in youth group when I was in it, and she was deathly afraid of praying outloud. She just couldn't do it. She literally would cry if someone asked her to say a short prayer, even like grace over food.

A few years later, she went to school starting her journey to become a pastor. And she can pray outloud now too. :)

Wait and pray....if you truly want to be a pastor, and it's part of God's plan for you, it will happen. :)

If only I knew...the question of callings and the question of talents drives me batty...what calling? what talents? for the average person it remains a little vague I think...

all I know for sure is I don't fit in anywhere, liberals think I'm a whacked out psychotic fundamentalist, fundamentalist think I'm some kind of new age yoga/ martial arts practicing heathen...

:help:

Teaching. I have taught my adult Sunday school class, preschoolers and early grade schoolers so far. (Haven't worked my way up to the pre-teens and teens yet. Still scares me.) It's a lot of work to research and prepare, and for me personally there's a confidence thing involved in being up in front of people, but once I get rolling I'm okay, and by the end I'm always glad I did it. It has been a great blessing to me, personally, and I hope and pray I've blessed others as well.
