Guys this is just an exploratory reality, ok?

If we took into account only what the Prophet Jesus said and only into account what the Prophet Muhammad said, "would it be possible for someone to be a Christian Muslim?"

I am still attempting to hunt common ground here just to see if there is any :) .

Everybody's input is welcome.

just love,

That depends on what Jesus actually said. The Muslims will claim there were things Jesus didn't say that the Christians say Jesus said.

There is no getting around the statement "before Abraham was born, I AM", because that is a claim to the name YHWH and also a claim to being beginningless, which, for the Jews, no beginning = God.

So, really, again, it depends on what Jesus ACTUALLY said.

I would say that, if you were to take the Christian Gospels and keep them in the context of the language and culture they were written in, and assume that the words of Christ in those Gospels are 100% accurate (in their contextual meaning), then one could not be a Christian Muslim, because Muslims deny Christ's Divinity.

It all comes down to what Christ really said about Himself.

And also what is revealed to us, and what we say about it:

"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ."

Just so there's no confusion, that's the Rock this Ray is on. I would have no problem accepting certain parts of Islam that are indeed peaceful and don't contradict my Lord, but I think that might chop out quite a bit ...

Forgive me

Not sure I understand the OP.

But if there are Christian "Messianic" Jews, why can't there be Christian "Messianic" Muslims

I'll stick my neck out on a couple relevant points, so if I need to be corrected by Muslims please do so.

It's not really clear what Muhammad actually said other than very little of their writings. Beliefs on that one point varies, but is not of great importance. In any event they deny Jesus died by crucifixion, so there are some key differences that won't be reconciled.

Christianity and Islam are mutually exclusive. The Christian Scriptures are violated by the false god of Islam.
The sanctity of the Gospel of Jesus were violated by the false ministry of Paul of Tarsus.

If we put faith in the transmission and filteration system that Islamic scholars developed, then we have A LOT of what he said recorded, in most cases word for word.

what is meant by 'their' writings

In know folks who are both Christian and Muslim. I also know folks who are both Christian and Buddhist. And others who are Christian and Hindu. And also some who are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and American Indian spirituality. When its God that one loves, and one finds no boundries to God, some folks seem to find God in all religions.

"would it be possible for someone to be a Christian Muslim?"
Would a well-Lighted darkness be possible?

Or, as St. Paul put it, "What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?" (II Corinthians 6:15)

Both Jesus and Muhammad (pbut) are Muslims. It will be strange to write that Christ was a Christian.

^This . That's where the dispute lies. .two different Jesus'. Muslims don't even believe his name was Jesus to begin with.

I agree. The Jews don't call him Jesus either. It's Yeshua to them.

Same thing with the Mexicans. The spell his name J.E.S.U.S., but pronounce it Hea-sus.
