I admit, I am looking forward to New Moon. Actually a movie with some
originality and that they really tried to entertain the audience.(compare to alot of movies I have seen on DVd.)

I am intersted in Fanning's character. The evil vampire that can make you relive the worst pains in your life(physical and emotional). I believe that could be one of the most powerful powers there is.

I am also looking forward to the werewolf, being investiagated more by this series.

It will rule the screen probably for the rest of the year, possibly months into 2010. (Just by book sales, and the junk they are offering besides this movie.)
I believe it will be interesting even to the males in the audience. I watched the first one twice.(found something else to do the hundred other times my dauhgters and wife watched it.)^_^

Another thing I want to know is why the vampire that warned of the two rogue vampires returns to harm Bella.(well other than to draw out the werewolf Jacob.) He wanted to stay out of the fight in the first, why does he change?

Don't want to spoil it for you but it explains that stuff in the book and probably will in the movie too.

We plan on seeing New Moon in the theater on Monday night. I'm looking forward to this one as Lautner clearly outshined Pattinson (and definitely Stewart) in the first one, as far as acting is concerned. It will be good to see him take center stage.

In the movies, Jacob is much hotter than Edward. I know this because my 14 year old daughter says so.

I find it depressing that in spite of being almost universally hated by the critics, it is grossing this much. Seriously, I skimmed the books briefly once, out of curiosity. Beyond all the issues with sexism and the abusive relationships, they were terribly written. I simply cannot comprehend why they do so well.

I would direct you all to New Moon's 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes: The Twilight Saga: New Moon Movie Reviews, Pictures - Rotten Tomatoes

Of course they are terribly written, but who says that teenage girls will care about that? As long as there is some dreamy guy, romance, blah blah...

Same goes for the movie. The movie isn't meant to be one of the greatest movies of all time...far from it. It's catered to young girls who are too infatuated to care...of course THEY will think it's the greatest movie of all time. Even though I don't care for the movie...I'll let them enjoy it, knowing that it wasn't made with my interests in mind. But that it was made for $$.

Critics' reviews doesn't show how much people will like a movie. Just as much how much people like a movie doesn't show how good a movie is.

We saw the movie last night, and I was disappointed. Taylor Lautner was excellent in the movie as expected, but other than Billy Burke's performance, that was about the only bright spot. As a matter of fact, they milked the new buffed-up Lautner with his shirt off a little too much, IMO.

Other than that, you have to endure another uninspired performance by Kristen Stewart as the brooding Bella and people who haven't read the books will be at a total loss as to why Bella would choose the rather distant, cold, and not-very-good-looking Edward over the caring, sensitive and hot Jacob. And the ending was....well, it was dumb. That's all I'll say about it right now.

Movie critics rarely know what they're talking about (for proof, go to Rotten Tomatoes. Abysmal films like The Dark Knight, Star Trek and Juno get high marks from these guys) but in this case I have to concede that they were right.

I think Kristen Stewart is a pretty good actress.

The Twilight series isn't just for teens......there are plenty of adult women that enjoy the series. I find them entertaining. They aren't the best written....my 4th grader is reading them...but I think it's an entertaining story line.

The movies are a bit lackluster...I'll give you that. But if you love the series, you don't notice it much...if at all. You are just happy to see your characters come to life. My oldest and her bff saw it Friday night...they are huge fans. They've read the books, wore their New Moon shirts and squealed all weekend. I took my other two kids to see it Saturday afternoon. My 7yo son sat through it. He LOVES Twilight/New Moon. He thinks the vampires and werewolves are cool....especially the wolves.

b.hopeful. I skimmed the series. I was curious, and that some of the things I'd heard could be true in light of the popularity.

To my stunned horror, I found that Edward did, indeed give Bella a Caesarian section with his teeth, he did watch Bella sleep, he did remove her engine from her car to stop her from seeing anyone but him, and Bella's hellspawn did break her spine during child birth. Also, Jacob falls in love with an infant, Bella names her daughter "Renesmee" (most cringe worth name ever).

I would argue that there is too much insane off-the-wall lunacy for the series to ever be anything but... I can't think of a suitable adjective.

The only interest I have in the movies is seeing how they deal with the "fountain of blood" Bella "vomits" when, pregnant, she bends over and feels a "ripping". I'm also curious as to how they'll deal withe the fact that Bella's baby snaps her spine, and Edward delivers the baby by Caesarian.

I hated the books. But I am honestly curious as to how the director will deal with the fact that after being so bland for 3 books, Meyer wrote in a chapter or two that seem straight out of the "Alien" movie trilogy. Renesme is too freaky to be anything but the chest-burster from the first movie.

Anyways. My thoughts. I think the Twilight franchise contains a huge number revolting events that seem to be glossed over. I do not care how much Edward loves Bella. Sitting at her bedside and watching her sleep is creepy. End of story.

Well......example from New Moon....how creepy is killing yourself over teen love? Yet Romeo and Juliet endures.(this is no romeo and juliet...just saying that creepy is in the eye of the beholder)

If I only read Breaking Dawn...I'm sure the pregnancy/birth thing would be hard to get into. But...reading the series....it never bothered me one bit. It almost seemed fitting. One thing I will credit Stephanie Meyer with is knowing her characters. No matter what I thought of the character....they seemed consistent and genuine...like she knew them well.

Revolting seems harsh... I mean, there are women that vomit so much while pregnant they need to be hospitalized. Food and bile...but for a vampire child, blood doesn't seem odd. Breaking the spine? How about a woman giving birth and having her perineum cut to make room....or developing a vaginal hernia....or having her uterus rupture. Unusual csection.....but my friend had a prolapsed cord and the nurse jumped on her bed...shoved her hand up into the vagina, past her elbow and rode the bed down the halls to the OR. Childbirth isn't for sissies.....we shouldn't expect less from vampire babies, lol.

I still sneak in to watch my kids sleep....and I actually require it myself. My son giggles in his sleep and it's a joy to see. If Edward doesn't require sleep...and he enjoys Bella talking in her sleep...why not?

Most importantly, we must remember it's teen lit.

I know, but "Fountains of blood"?!

Food and bile...but for a vampire child, blood doesn't seem odd.

Of course, considering that Edward hasn't done spermatogenesis in a century, and that his body fluids have been replaced with venom means that this shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Breaking the spine? How about a woman giving birth and having her perineum cut to make room....or developing a vaginal hernia....or having her uterus rupture.

Opinion, I suppose. I think that there is something more horrific about her baby severing her spinal cord.

Edward gave her a Caesarian with his teeth. He literally chewed into his uterus. I'm actually fine (sort of) with what you talk about. There is something intrinsically nauseating about reading a description of someone literally chewing their way into the uterus.

I still sneak in to watch my kids sleep....and I actually require it myself. My son giggles in his sleep and it's a joy to see. If Edward doesn't require sleep...and he enjoys Bella talking in her sleep...why not?

Because you and your children are family... and they are your children. Bella and Edward aren't family. He's 109 year old man watching an underage teenage girl in her sleep. Without her father's knowledge or consent, I might add.

And its strikes me as voyeuristic.

Most importantly, we must remember it's teen lit.

Precisely why I would think the part where Edward chews his way into Bella's reproductive organs to remove the baby that violates Meyer's own descriptions of vampire physiology may be somewhat inappropriate.

Along with the message that its ok to sneak into your girlfriend/boyfriends bedroom to watch them sleep so long as you really are in love and an insomniac. And don't let the Dad know.

I read it as fiction...not a how to. Edward sneaks in to watch her sleep...of all the rules he could break and all the things he could do...not so bad. They aren't sneaking out to have sex and do drugs...he sneaking in to make sure she's safe at night. We forget the part where she's being hunted by a sadistic vampire and is but a mere mortal.

I see nothing inappropriate about a teen reading the birth details. Again....it's fantasy. And it doesn't make me squeamish....he had to get the baby out somehow. If the sharpest thing available is your teeth...knock yourself out. He didn't do it for pleasure...he did it to save two lives. I would hope my dh was capable of squeamish things in order to save his wife and child.

Bella is not family...but she is his soul mate. Her blood sings to him and it's supposed to be a connection that is beyond all....same as the werewolves imprinting. That sort of love is the theme...not unlike Romeo and Juliet.

Again....nauseating is watching someone sew up the space between your vagina and anus with a fish hook...which I've done. Have you seen a placenta? Mine was the size of a basketball...a gelatinous bloody basketball blood clot....and I watched them fish it out of a silver dish and put it in a tupperware like bowl to be examined later. The umbilical cord looks like something out of alien....and describing the texture of it is nearly impossible. I think it's obvious that Stephanie Meyer has kids of her own...because again, there is nothing nice and neat about childbirth.

Now....I thought there were loopholes...but I can still enjoy a story, especially fantasy or sci -fi...even if I think I've found loopholes. One of them, for me, was the sperm. Another was, how does Edward tolerate Bella's menustral cycle? I don't buy that because it's "old" blood...he's not bothered. You would think that if his brother was ready to kill her over a papercut...that her menustral cycle, for Edward, would be mind blowing.

Well, I'm an old guy and I'm a fan of the series. I went to Forks and took the Twilight tour, read all the books and own the first movie and two copies of the soundtrack and wore my Twilight pin to "New Moon"--so I'm not a hater. The books are decent and the first movie was actually pretty good.

I really enjoyed all the stuff with the wolves and Lautner in this one, too. But that's about it. Taylor Lautner is a rising star in my book and Pattinson and Stewart look like amateur night by comparison, in my opinion. I'm sorryl, but I just cannot stand Kristen Stewart in this role. As far as I'm concerned, the movie starts when Bella shows up at Jacob's with the motorcycles and ends when she leaves Forks with Alice.

Just my opinion, of course, but after the first one, I had pretty high hopes for this one--and was disappointed.

One good thing though: New Moon should cause a near total defection of Team Edward members to Team Jacob, the guy who should've won Bella's heart in the first place :)

I've been a fan of the books since they came out. I've never liked Breaking Dawn (the final book) and I never will.

I liked the first Twilight film, but it definitely had some flaws.

I just saw New Moon today and I loved it.

People who see the films without reading the books, and complain about the story, really kinda need to keep quiet.

The film of New Moon moves very slowly at times, because it's supposed to. I was SO glad to see that. Just like with Twilight, if you want everything explained, read the novels. So much of these stories is what people are thinking/feeling, not any action or dialogue taking place on a movie screen.

Definitely looking forward to Eclipse, but I doubt I'll want to see Breaking Dawn at all. I felt everything went crashing downhill after Eclipse.

Regarding the haters: Some people cannot stand to see anyone else enjoying something if they themselves don't "get it". They can't simply say "OK, well, I don't like that, but if you do, that's great, enjoy yourself." They fancy themselves great thinkers and analyzers, but the truth is, small minds are the ones that can't conceive of anything being worthwhile or good if they don't like/agree with it. If you dislike a book or a movie, that's fine, but have the intelligence to understand that YOUR perspective doesn't rule the Universe.

When you analyze things to death...that's exactly what you're doing...killing any magic or joy or novelty. And that's a seriously sad way to be.

Spec...you are my new favorite person, lol. I am definitely more Team Jacob. I saw a shirt that said I'm team Edward until Jacob takes off his shirt, lol.

Ink.....I agree. I am actually not a big Harry Potter Fan. Just not my thing...but I understand WHY people love it so much. I've seen the movies..they are alright...and I read the first book..which made me realize I didn't want to read more. There is nothing wrong with it other than it's not my bag. I don't get the haters either..and it's definitely hating and not mere criticism.

Yea, most likely will answer those questions. But those are what I wondered from seeing the previews. (I Don't read.)

Shirt off a little to much. I bet the women didn't think so.

I think Kristen Stewart is a pretty good actress.

People get hooked quickly, mostly women.

I agree, watching someone sleep for very long is creepy. Also watching someone sleep before they knew you, is even more creepy.

I think my family will like it, not sure I will. I liked the first one, but not enough to read the books.

I love it when the double standard is illuminated,
Let a 30+man talk sleezy or suggestive to a female 16-17 yr old star, he would probably be beaten before being arrested. But 30+ yr old women
doing just that to the male stars is just funny.

New Moon is great, but I think the drought of worthy movies is also feeding the fire.

LAcon: I am assuming your post has spoilers for those that haven't read the books. Maybe a little warning for those that don't want to know the future.

I saw New Moon over the weekend. I liked it. Being a heterosexual male, the shirtless males walking around being macho didn't impress me. (Most of the time, the pack of wolves(in human form)Looks like a group of men in the weight room)
I think the fantasy aspect was good, and tied into the real life of a teenager, with teenager problems. Although I don't believe a teenager thinks of becoming old.

It had some good action, and a few suprises.

Being that I married a tanless redhead with cold hands and feet, I would have to say I am Team Edward.

I hope we are not in the entertainment drought when the next Twilight movie comes out. I think New Moon was decient, not blockbuster.
"Marry me?" That is not an ending, well on second thought...
No, marry me is not the end, the end is when you say "I do". JK
