This thread is simple.

What has God done for you today?

This is a great way of exercising our faith during our down moments and a great way to give Him Glory.

Certainly we all can look past all our misery for just a bit and think hard on what God has done for us today or even just recently

Anyone up to it?

God did something very simple for me yesterday but it meant worlds to me.

I am a cutter, have been for years, while yesterday might not have been this specific case for me I at times do not want to be left alone.

A cutter being left alone is not exactly the smartest combination.

I cannot talk with my family for numerous reasons.

I have had no rest whatsoever for a long time, I was very weary and undergoing alot of spiritual warfare.

I said to the Lord "sit with me, you do not have to say anything, just sit by my side"

This was after I was very disobedient to Him, and I just had the presence of Jesus right next to me, things just washed away and for that little bit of time, I was just resting in Him.

Sometimes a moments of rest because of our loving, merciful and Gracious God can mean everything to a person especially when that person has done something they KNOW they do not deserve rest but rather chastisment

Praise the Lord :bow:

How do I exercise this into my Faith?

Next time I am seeking peace and rest and those doubts come flooding in from the enemy saying "He isnt going to help you", I am just going to simply look back and remember what He did for me.

I am having withdrawals from clonozapam and its in the form of insomnia ..
This on top of all the stress in my life and i have migraines or something like it every day lately i am just here ..

this morning i woke up stressed after 4 hours of sleep ..

i checked my email and a Christian friend left a message for me .. it was exactly what i needed at exactly that moment i felt embraced ...

that is what God did for me through my friend ...

Now you just need to remember that. God loves you very much

Hold onto the things God does for you in your life, and don't let your trials and tribulations distract you from HIS love.

Cuz, they will try to do that.

my friend was troubled by needing to forgive someone even tho they never asked, and i was telling her how we have to make a decision to OBEY the LORD even when we dont feelll like it... and trying to explain that if we obey even when we dont understand , things will get better .... she didnt want to hear it and RIGHT AT ThAT MOMENT a van stopped beside us and a bible verse was on the side of it (on HER side of the car) and the ONLY word still legible was OBEY written in caps.... LOL

God is awesome and has a sense of humor... she looked at me and said "well i wanted confirmation..."
i call these things lil miracles from HIM....

they are alll around us if we only open our eyes to see and our ears to hear...

This was on the site JayAngel had linked to one of the responses to a post I had made. It was a blessing to read who I am in Christ. This one particular verse stuck out. Yesterday my mentor from church called. I hadn't been to church for a few weeks because my hubby was working a few Sundays, and I also had been depressed. My mentor brought this same exact verse up, but she didn't know where it was in the Bible right off, and I told her I had just read it. She was happy to hear, and told me it was no coincidence but a God sighting. So, I went back to the website and was able to find it.
This is what God promises for us. I am going to keep holding on to this hope and feel renewed in his Word.

that is a good question .... but one way to look at is is that God is ultimately the source of all that is good ..so directly or in directly it goes to his credit .

Well when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and begin to have a deep intimate relationship, you will have that question answered for you

I feel like I have a long road ahead of me. If I keep condemning myself then I will never fully be able to see what He is trying to do in my life. I still don't know much, but I have not given up yet and do not want to give up.
Thank you for the website by the way Jayangel. Sometimes things just come at the right time. I cannot believe that God would want me to just up and stop trying. And as close as you get to Him, the enemy will try to steal,kill and destroy.

Did you see the post from the humanist? You can be sure (probably without his knowledge)that the enemy was trying to destroy my thread by putting doubts and discouragement to everyone here who is very vulnerable. "How do you know this is from God" These are thoughts of the World, not from God..

That is why I am fighting against it with Hope that I can be worth something to Him.

Hope is great, but we must put the armor of God on, I am going to make a thread on it but I doubt it will last, mods would probably remove it...

I feel like I have a long road ahead of me.

You do, we all do. I am on a very long hard road. People may not believe it, but alot of the things I talk about that was revealed are things I even struggle with..

The Christian walk is a very long hard road, and it can get lonely. But God is always with us

Someone once said this and it was very true, many people think Christianity and Jesus is a crutch and for the weak, but what we go through, it is the strong who actually walk the Narrow Road.

If I keep condemning myself then I will never fully be able to see what He is trying to do in my life.

Me and you both. This is why both of us need to stop condemning ourselves and wear the Breastplate of Righteousness.

Guilt,shame,negative attitudes,fear,deceit,reminder of our wrongs are a few things we suffer from the one in the world. We hold that captive

I still don't know much, but I have not given up yet and do not want to give up.

I want to give up all the time, but HE Does now let me. He won't let you either. He will hold us up with His Righteous right hand

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Sometimes things just come at the right time. I cannot believe that God would want me to just up and stop trying.

He doesnt, He loves you very much.

When I first came back to putting my life in Christ, that is when all this trouble started off in the first place. The enemy wants us to give up.

Well before you came to Christ you were never a threat to the enemy.

If he isn't bothering you than you aren't bothering him

That is why we need Christian fellowship and a relationship with God to protect us.

A deep intimate relationship is what holds us up. I tried to walk the Christian life without a deep intimate close relationship with Him. It does not work..

I am still struggling but He is turning me around.

We also need to know and understand who we are in this relationship.

I keep telling myself this because I am weak on my own. I keep telling myself with God anything is possible for Jesus said this. If Jesus said this, then it is possible for even I to be forgiven.

Those who say they can stand up on their own are puffed up, I have been this way, always wanted to do things independant of Him. You would be suprised on what God told me

I think God is reminding me today (and you all too) that we need to give our burdens, yes even our OCD worries and fears to Him and let Him carry them. That we need to cease worrying and fretting and leave them in His hands to deal with.

I agree

He has told me many times to stop carrying everyone on ourselves. This is how we enter and live in God's Rest
