One of the stereotypes I dislike is that younger men (less than 25) aren't on the same "maturity" level as a woman of the same age (or older in some cases). It's retarded, and the irony is that the people that judge like that are the ones actually being immature. Not everyone is the same, and therefore should not be judged the same.

That we're just these emotional beings who are unable to form a logical thought or make decisions rationally.
I'll second that. I hate how we are perceived as having an inferior intellect by virtue of being female.

I also hate:
All women are harlots, gold diggers, etc.
Women are not equal to men

One that I am experiencing right now...my blood is starting to boil and hopefully when the next discourse comes, this friend of mine gets the point...just because my views have changed now, that doesn't mean that I was not genuine before. This stereotype of those of us who have had their views change, drives me up the wall because it states I am a liar, and when someone calls me that...look out! :D

One stereotype that drives me nuts is that women are just after a man's money.
Another one is that women only want to be with jerks.

ditto...i earn my own money and i can't stand jerks.

my main peeve in the stereotype department isn't gender-specific: obese people are totally lazy. I'm obese and i like to be active....i just have bad genes.

When a woman is angry it's because she's pmsing or something. I hate that.

If you don't wear makeup, dresses, pantyhose, and high heels, you're a feminist and a butch tomboy.
When I tell people I'm a feminist, they assume I hate men, motherhood, children, am a lesbian, or butch. They'll say something like "oh you don't look like a feminist" because especially during the summer, I wear dresses more, on special occasions I may put a little bit of make up, and sometimes I wear jewelry, and I'm a feminist. ;)

And it's already been mentioned, that all women want men who are jerks,

I hate when people say women don't enjoy sex or act as though we don't have sexual desires.
I hate how women are mainly placed within these dichotomies like the virgin/harlot complex.

That we're just these emotional beings who are unable to form a logical thought or make decisions rationally.

Third.

Okay, so... other than things that have been mentioned already is this one:

- When men - or anyone for that matter - refers to a woman as a "gal," who is clearly not in her teen years or younger. The definition of "gal" in regards to females is girl, which implies child. So, unless you're referring to a child, I'd stick to woman or lady. Gal also isn't the most attractive reference to a female, but that's beside the point. If she is a woman, call her a woman.

I'll admit that I am very guilty of believing the stereotype that all that men want is sex.

Probably because I have never encountered a man in RL who wasn't driven by that, and who didn't have it as some sort of ulterior motive.

I'm sorry. I really am. I just automatically assume that I'll be pressured or propositioned, because that is all that has happened to me in the past. :sigh:

None of them bother me to any serious extent, but there are some that I like to correct when given the opportunity.

Women are sometimes thought of as less logical, mathematical, or scientific, and that is certainly not the case for many women.

Another is that if I'm a woman, I must be less focused on my career than a man is, or somehow value it less.

Wow, another resurrected old thread.

OK, I'll add a few.

The idea that there is no happy medium between being an icy-crotched, man-hating, feminazi witch, and a teary-eyed, overly-emotional, flower-loving, scrap-book-making, baby-popping, kitchen-frequenting, non-arguing "submissive". There's no room for a girl who is self-aware, intelligent, capable, witty, clever, passionate, and strong...yet still tender-hearted and vulnerable, needing a strong shoulder to lean on.

All the "traditional" female expectations. If you don't know how to cook, for example, apparently you lack female genitalia and are nothing more than a wanna-be man. If you don't wear makeup, dresses, pantyhose, and high heels, you're a feminist and a butch tomboy.

A woman's womanliness is in her mind, heart, and spirit. Not in her clothes, physical appearance, or level of domestic talent.

That. Totally.

Yep....very true. I can't replace the man's mother, nor do I want to....

That's a sad reality when it comes to the stereotyping. As I much as I hate being judged for a man that has some ulterior motive or who would even consider pressuring or propositioning myself or the girl for sex, regardless, the flip side of the coin is true...a lot of guys do it.

Its like one of those things, no reason to apologize, but why do I have to get it? :p
