Pretty secular vs. ugly Christian partner - What would you choose?

I noticed the other thread about "How shallow are you", so I thought I should run a experimental poll. It's anonymous.

If there were no choice. You had to pick one: A pretty secular partner or a ugly Christian partner. Lets also add: The secular one would never become Christian and totally hated it, and the Christian one was a really deeply spiritual person that would never abandon God. And when I mean ugly I mean someone that you would absolutely feel totally unattractive, and with pretty I mean the woman/man of your dreams.

There is also a option for none of them, but then you would also have to live without a partner all your life.

Of course this poll only makes sense to Christians.

Find someone you are attracted to who also fits what you want in religious expectations. 6 billion people in the world, why are you choosing between two archetypes?

Choosing "none" does not mean you are alone forever. It means you didn't settle on marrying someone you thought was unattractive, and you didn't settle on someone who was not a Christian (for those who consider this important), and you went on to meet someone who you DID find attractive and who WAS a Christian :doh:

Your poll is flawed in assuming there are only two (edit: with the third option being "alone forever") options.

Note that it is experimental. It don't got anything to do with reality of course, but for example if there were only 3 people left on earth. 1 was you, and 2 others someone of the opposite sex, with the descriptions above.

Eh, I do understand that. While I realize the poll is hypothetical, I guess it baffles me to no end why you would want people to answer such a question? It seems a little depressing. "Either you have to compromise your physical standards, or your faith standards. Choose." :hug:

neither - i wouldn't be with someone that i wasn't attracted to on every level - spiritually, emotionally, physically so in that situation i wouldn't be attracted to either. i'd just stay single and doom all of humanity - cuz i'm cool like that

I'd go for the ugly Christian. I'm sure I would get used to his looks. And if he's really that Godly, I would find that alone attractive enough to carry on with.

think Id have to choose neither and hope they both find what theyre looking for. I mean if the ugly one really liked me alot and I couldnt return it , it would probably affect her in bad way.

I picked pretty secular. I could just share my faith with friends instead. I could not live with someone I really hated to look at. And I would prefer not to live alone.

It's not even a question. I'd never date/marry a non-Christian. I'd marry the ugly Christian guy, and hopefully would grow to accept his appearance. Even if he were so hideous that I didn't want to touch him, I'd still love him with all my heart and stick with him to the end. Love is so much deeper than the flesh.

lol. i chose neither of them. i think id be happier off single. Sex is a marital duty. And besides, i think people have a need to have their spouse find them attractive, so gagging every time i get near them probably would bring our relationship down in flames.

And a sinner would help to bring my soul down in flames, and burning in hell isnt worth that. heh. Besides, if she was incredibly hot, it would mean she probably was spending insane amounts of money to stay looking that way. And i aint gonna be no sugar daddy.

I'm so done dating secular people (especially if they wouldn't budge - how depressing is that?! Your relationship would be terrible!).

I still think basic attraction is important, though. Guess I'd go with neither.

Neither. That anti-Christian thing just would not work. And there are Christian women out there who are quite ugly inside and out, in spite of their religious devotion.

That doesn't mean she'd be attractive on the inside. She could be annoying. She could be brain damaged and not respect people's boundaries. She might be very hard to laugh with. She might have zero charisma.

The ugly Christian. But I can live without either. Like Becky, I think I can handle the singleness. I don't really care for looks, and that would annoy both dates when it came down to the physical.
