Thankfully you know what I'm talking about. I hate that too.

It almost feels as though you are under siege or something when it gets like this. Because before the roads are cleaned up, only an idoit does a lot of unnesscessary traveling because of the danger.

So that means any plans you had of going out that night are canceled.
The best thing for us was parking for our house was on an alley. Now the plows did plow the alleys... eventually, like 2-3days after the snowfall. So not only did we have to shovel our cars free but you would have 2-3 families all out together trying to shovel the alley clear enough that we could all drive into and out of our parking areas on the alley.

Ouch, where was this at?

I used to live in LaPorte but now I live out in the country. We no longer have a concrete drive way which is a heck of a lot easier to get stuck in.

The worst thing is that I'm the only person in my family who doesn't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Goshen, we were far enough away that we didn't get hit as hard as say South Bend or Elkhart, but we could still get pounded now and then.

Radio station is reporting that it is now (9:30 AM) 0 degree's outside.

Gosh I wonder what the temp was when I came in to work?

I can imagine it was really cold. It was 4 when I woke up this morning and 11 now and we're normally a few degrees warmer then it is up north. I'm getting ready to leave my house now, hopefully I can get my car doors open today.
And I know what you mean about the roads, New Years Day my boyfriend and I were driving back from his sister and brother in law's place and we ended up on the other side of the high way, thankfully going the right direction and it was early enough that no cars were out.

Its worse when the mechanism gets frozen and you can't close the door!

Then you are rumaging around like "We're my de-icer?!"

Oh did he finally ask you out?

That's enough snow to make a snow city full of snow people with snow houses and snow dogs and a snow church.

Not with Lake effect snow. It doesn't pack that well.

that's probably going to be my next problem. I got into it today after some work and I drove around enough that everything is pretty much melted, I'm just afraid of where the water will freeze again.

one of the guys did, not the one I go swing dancing though.

yeah, this snow is just the light fluffy stuff that's really fine looking, one bad thing about it is that it blows really easily.

And you sink further into it when you walk in it too.

Nice pics Luther. I finally got home at a descent hour when there's still light. Here's mine, but 2 days after the storm.

18 inches were reported to have fallen where I live. I was pretty busy for 3 days at work and had packed ice on the roads the previous 2 days.

Send your snow my way! It was 50 degrees F today and we really need more snow!
A Taffer. This weekend we're supposed to get 50 degree weather. But at the same time they're calling for freezing rain, crazy stuff. I'm hoping we'll get lots of snow because my job depends heavily on it during the winter.

Sampa I know it was the worst fog that I can remember.

I drove in it and you practically had to be on top of the stoplight before you could tell if it is red or green.
Well it's even more dangerous when you pull from a country road out across a 4 lane highway at the risk of being hit because drivers don't want to slow down to 40mph and still go 60mph. It was very very bad, praise God I made it to church. The weather gets wierder all the time and they're calling for a tornado watch tonight.
