The Best Way To Clean Up This Forum...

It is obvious that the devil is using some to stir up trouble amongst God's people. It is quite easy to identify who they are by their abusive attitude.

I think the best way to deal with these people is to just simply ignore them, since they are not willing to listen to a voice of reason. In fact, we shouldn't even participate in their threads. Just ignore them and eventually they will go away.

It's as simple as that. Don't feed them with insults. For, this is what they want. They love to argue with and belittle others.

I don't know if there was a time when we didn't have such problematic people in here; but I do know that God does not approve of such behavior. Therefore, it is best that we turn away from such people. Perhaps then they will get the hint that their hateful attitude isn't welcome here, or among God's people.

Wooba, that's why we were given the ignore feature, and although it's sad that sometimes two people just cannot communicate...it happens.

Feeding the fire is exactly what keeps some people coming back (and for the record NightEternal I am in NO way talking about you because I don't believe we've ever spoken).

I see all the bickering back and forth, and the name calling especially, as a stumblingblock. Nobody can move forward in that type of constant turmoil.

Sometimes you just have to decide if the person you're trying to communicate with is just trying to argue for argument's sake.

I can't remember the last time I had a discussion on here. Most of the time I am here everything turns into a heated debate. We don't have freedom of opinion by the members., they won't let us have an opinion. I already have 4 people on my ignore list....counting.

I don't think it's appropriate to announce when you've ignored someone though, do you? They'll figure it out eventually.

I agree with the point made that the devil is using this forum. Just look at the 3abn thread. How ridiculous that gossip and such are prppagated by people and to know that there are those who are not of the adventist faith who read this stuff and those who choose to have a hateful attitude are turning these people away from adventists altogether. It is very sad indeed!

Yep, I also agree. I think that the best thing to do is not to take the bait when people are looking for heated arguments

I agree with you 100%. Human pride can be such an ugly thing and we ALL have it.

Sometimes walking away gives the appearance that you aren't convicted about your standpoint, but if walking away prevents true bloodshed or message board bloodshed, then so be it.

I'm guilty of taking the bait far too many times and that's something I need to pray about.

I think there is a time to walk away and let cooler heads prevail. Once a discussion turns into an arguement it is no longer productive to either side. It takes a bigger person to remain quiet sometimes.

Another thing I think is important to bring up is this. A Christian should be about reflecting the love of Christ. We were all made initially in the image of our Creator. When we practice sin or adopt a hateful attitude we can become evil and take on the image of satan or his demons. So we should re-read our posts before we submit them and ask ourselves if what we have typed out uplifts the Lord or uplifts satan. Think about it this way, if Christ was sitting beside you as you typed the post out would you be saying what you are? He knows all and is aware of what you say.

I agree Jim. I've started many a post that I haven't submitted because I asked myself if I was answering out of pride or with the love of Christ.

I fail sometimes though, for sure.

I'm really not much for arguments, and I don't state my points plainly when I'm angry anyway (I'm talking about in real life situations, message boards RARELY ever get to me).

It really does take a bigger man to walk away, I agree with you.

Stumblingblocks make us not only stumble, but they can make us fall.

Well then what's the point in ignoring them? You couldn't ignore me if you tried...I'm like a bad train wreck and you just can't help but look. HA!

I used to do the same thing though, I'd put someone on ignore and then occasionally look to see what they said. I decided that's not a good idea for me personally.

However, it never fails, if you ignore someone, someone else WILL "quote" them eventually, and then you have to see it anyway.

Constraint.

The thread you started wasn't about uplifting 3ABN, it was about asking things like "did Danny have hidden assets?"

Things we cannot possible know unless we're his accountant.

Let God take care of the person responsible for that marriage.

This thread has to do with poeple in here who have been verbally abusive. I haven't seen that you have been guilty of this.

However, I think that we should let Danny and Linda deal with their personal issues, and not bring such matters up in a public domain where they aren't present to defend themselves.

And for the simple fact that they aren't present that evidences that they really don't want these issues to be brought up in this manner. We ought to show some respect for this.

Trust, you really don't think Rosie opened that thread for gossip do you? She is a DEFENDER of 3abn and opened that thread for one reason. To get some truthful statements out there. That is why she ask the questions of me because I have inside knowledge of those things. If she were trying to gossip and slander she would have ask everybody to answer. She specifically did not do that. Those that love 3abn are tired of the lies all over the adventist chat rooms and we have just tried to counteract that with some truth.We didn't start this mess, and we would give anything for it to end so please don't lay blame at the wrong door. We just don't want the ministry destroyed.
