One of the things we must learn from Ephesians 6 passage is that we are in a spiritual battle.
11 Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (tricks schemes) of the devil.
We have to realize that we are not fighting against just the devil himself but against his schemes also
Many of us have read evangelistic tract, ‘ The Four Spiritual Laws” The first law stated is that God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. We can look at the counterfeit of this in Ephesians 6, which would state that the devil hates us and has a terrible plan for our lives. Whether we like it or not, we find ourselves in a spiritual battle. Its is the devil’s purpose to set up schemes in our lives and in society that run themselves to bring about destruction with or without our awareness.

Every good manager knows that in order to govern people effectively, he must set up managements systems that run themselves. The Manager of a company cannot personally supervise every worker. Have you ever thought of the fact that Satan and demonic spirits do not multiply? However people do. Therefore, the same number of demonic spirits is operative on the earth today as was 100 years ago when there were only 1 billion people. Today there are over 5 billion people. If Satan is going to manage his kingdom of darkness with a constant number of demons, but an ever-increasing human population, he is going to have to set up management schemes that run themselves. Neither Satan nor even his demonic hosts can personally afflict each person continuously. Therefore we need to put on the whole armour of God and to stand. The armour is easy to remember
Let the TRUTH be on your lips while you strife towards RIGHTEOUNESS. Walk always in PEACE, and be strong in your FAITH. Guard your SALVATION with the SORD OF THE SPIRIT. (Read your bible to get knowledge and become strong in the Lord.)

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Sometimes recently, I get defeated by satan and his people. I needed this reminder to get ALL my armour on, before I leave out the door of my home. I can usually tell when I'm irritating satan, because he throws stuff at me from all angles. The verses mentioned here, are some of my favorite in the whole Bible. I've got to get back to where I use to be spiritually, and get on fire for the Lord. I get my feelings hurt a lot by people who don't want to hear my thoughts about the Lord and His goodness. Some days, I feel like gfiving up on these people. That's exactly what satan would like to see happen. Well, I've got news for that rascal satan. I'm not going to continue to be defeated. I've got to renew my strength, and get busy. My biggest problem is that I'm not being fed like I use to be. it's my fault, and I need to get back into His word, and be fed. I love the books of the new testament, and I need to start reading my Bible on a daily basis, like I use to. Armour... I knew I was lacking something! Thanks, I'll get mine shined up, and I'll have ALL of it on, before I head out this morning. Watch out satan, cause I'm BACK for another round!PEACE guys. I'm OUT Darby

What irony. I just posted on the suicide thread, in response to you, Altya---and I had not yet SEEN this thread. Two great minds (of the same Spirit), eh???

:)

A parting shot, if I may... :p
We do need the armor of God, for "the devil prowls the world as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour". But there is a balance to this, given in Luke 10:17-19: "And the seventy returned with joy, saying, 'Lord! Even the demons are subject to us in Your name!' And He said, 'I saw satan fall like lightning from Heaven; behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy---and nothing shall by any means hurt you'".

...and the balance comes when we read the next verse, 20: "Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice instead that your names are written in Heaven!"

The secret to winning against the devil, is often not-to-fight-at-all; but to fill ourselves so full of Jesus and the Spirit, that the devil has ALREADY LOST!!!!!

:D

Amen – years ago I was flabbergasted when I read Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
( maybe for the 100000 time) and saw that after you put on the armor you just STAND – no fighting, nothing just stand, then I asked God to teach me how to stand – well this is a whole sermon on its own.

I would like to remind you again that the ARMOR of God is actually an ATTITUDE. Girt yourself with TRUTH AND RIGHTSESIOUSNESS while you walk in PEACE. Make sure to shield yourself in FAITH and guard your salvation.

The WORD OF GOD is the only weapon of attack; but it is enough, the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God and BALANCED WITH THE ANOINTING.
It subdues and takes down evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise WITHIN; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from WITHOUT. A single text, WELL UNDERSTOOD, and RIGHTLY APPLIED, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary.
Jesus in the wilderness uses the sword against the temptations of Satan

Thanks! As an old man who tends to forget, I appreciate being reminded.

I must say this reply is quite powerful. Very handy for us all, but one I will print out and hang on the wall and keep a copy in my car as well.

Hi altya,

Interesting thread! I've always wondered, though, how exactly Satan operates in our lives. Can he actually whisper into our ears, or plant thoughts in our minds? Can he cause other people to sin against us, or influence events that occur around us?

Looking forward to any thoughts or insights on this!
