For those who are from England; Or those who have visited on the odd occasion, which of England's counties are the best?

Mine is Dorset. Simply because of its muddy fields, deer, quaint church yards, castles, houses, lovely coastline and of course the rustic accents of Dorset folk! :pink:

In England- Gloucester, the rolling hills and the city itself with the Cathedral. In the UK

Pembrokeshire- St Davids, the coastal Park, the rocky beaches and cliffs, the islands, the wildlife, I just love it!

Well ya cant get any worse than Kent

I would prob say Devon

theres quitw a few others but it just springs to mind

im not sure...i live in east sussex (which is ok to a degree)...i would have to say...Devon because i have been there several times and i really enjoyed my stay there.

well i would say lancashire cos that were im from but i gotta admit its awful there - so ill go with cheshire where i am now.

Oh, it's not all bad! The bits between Blackburn and Lancaster, and the bits "over the sands" are very fine.

(NB - ignore post 1974 maps - the "new counties" are purely administrative. the Furness district was and always will be part of Lancashire.)

I grew up in Bedfordshire. Can't say I hold any affection for it though. Smells of brickworks. Nice bits round Dunstable though.

Devon!

I love walking the coastlines, especially in the evenings. They're truly beautiful. Also the stunning countryside with all it's variety of scenery and wildlife.

Then there's the Devon accent! Brilliant!

And finally the beautiful clear nights when you can just stand and admire the glory of the heavens.

It just cannot be beaten...

Well i would have said Kent 20 years ago but since it has the channel link going right through the heart of it now

and not to mention the thousands of roads built in the last 5 years.I will go for the west country and yorkshire.

Well i was only in England for 6 days and did not see enough to judge. But i did have a great time in the Fens, London and Lincoln. So i am just going to have to come back to England and see the rest of it.
