Abortion (this is for school)

Abortion is wrong because it is the intentional, direct killing of an innocent human life.

Abortion is wrong because it is murdering a living being.

it is flat out wrong, it is the murdering of a innocent human life
it is human at conception when the zygote is formed

It's not wrong because we haven't defined what life is yet in a quantitive function. A collection of cells makes not a person.

pro-abortion, but i consider it human life sometime before birth. probably somewhere in the 2nd-3rd trimester. not ok after that.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with abortion. Abortion may be wrong for some people, while being fine for others. It all depends.

Wrong. No one will ever be able to successfully prove whether it is a person or not. Because of this, we should ere on the side of caution and prevent abortion as much as possible.

If someone can give a non-circular definition of a person then that might help. After all, for some definitions no-one can successfully prove whether or not a peanut is a person.

I didn't agree with any of answers, but of them all not being alive until being born was about the closest available. If the mother doesn't want the child, she can abort within a few months of becoming pregnant. If she waits too long, the baby will practically have been born already, at which point I can see it being cruel. Unless there is major risk to the woman's health in having the baby, I wouldn't make any exceptions past 4 or 5 months.

Your choices are a bit limited. Some people don't mind abortion until the end of the first or second trimester.

Personally I don't consider a featus to be a seperate human being for probably the first trimester. After that, things get a bit iffy. I agree with the overall idea of Norseman's post.

That was also on my mind there wasn't enough choice to see what the gradient is for people. But I still say abortion is fine and dandy, I just don't get why people who don't get abortions whine about others that do.

Abortion is right because a human child is an extension of the mother until it is viable and the mother has the right to make choices for her body.

I am against abortion for the same reason that many are for it. We just do not know when life begins. I would rather err on the side of caution.

I am also not merely thinking of the child, people have been led to believe that an abortion does not have ramifications on the life and happiness of the would be mother.

I doubt if I will ever hear a person say years later... I regret having my child. I wish I would have had him aborted, rather than bring him home...or giving him a home with others who will love them.

In many loving caring people, like most of us are... an abortion can lead to years of heartache and regret.

Once it is done, it is done. That particular life, different than any other life on this Earth... will be lost forever.

I could never abort a child, without tearing a piece from my heart. Giving life is a way to show love in its fullest sense.

Actually, it's "Thou shalt not murder".

Abortion is wrong at any point between conception and natural death.

Without a clear, objective and definitive definition of when human life begins, and because a substantial percentage of the population believe that human life begins at conception, like Savvy posted above, it is better to err on the side of caution.
