For me it is my maternal grandmother who was Jewish. I understand the tearing and how it never seems complete.. because it isn't.
Yeshua said "seek the truth, and the truth shall set you free". The Lord is not afraid of the hard questions, so don't be afraid of asking them! Do not accept if people feel you must accept their answers, only HaShem has all the answers.
I too learned to read the bible like a Christian, and like a Jew. Neither really connected and both were lacking for me. It wasn't until I discovered Messianic Judaism and attended a congregation that it all came together for me and truly made sense. To realize what is lacking in Christianity is the original Jewish perspective with which the Bible was written.
I will try to get back and give you pointers on some of your questions. It seems to me though that you are headed in the right direction. Keep Faith (it is not the same as believing) and continue seeking the truth.
