  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Christian Morality

I am not concerned with the conclusions the Bible gives me those. Practically speaking you cannot have legislation without some form of god's morality. God's morality is found in every society's laws. Thus the revised question is to what extent and the conclusion of the matter is to legislate...

    Christian Morality

Clearly yes, but to what extent? When we speak of Christian morals we mean the laws of God. Which all of God's law was condensed into two commands love God w/ all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. But all man's law is based in some part upon God's law for it was established by God...

    Christianity and Abortion Don't Mix

The Bible also does not discuss internet pornography, are you making the declaration that unless a sin is specifically outlined in the Bible it is not a sin? Is this not carnal?

    Words of the Prophet

I disagree to a point, the only thing that makes all experiences meaningless; "Christian", Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Mormon, "Fill in the blank", is the lack of Christ. The scripture is clear, he that has Christ has life so it does not matter what men call you if you posses Christ but how...

    Words of the Prophet

The first problem is that a child of God will not continue to sin so any claim for a pre-mortal to be a child of God and then enter into sin makes his claim invalid. This is the same as light changing to darkness it doesn't happen, light is always light and cannot be anything but light. God is...

    Words of the Prophet

A few thoughts... Why would doubtless sons and daughters of God choose to enter into sin? Would this not argue against their claims as children of The Most High? 1 John 3: 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he...

    Alcohol

No, I do not....but what do the scriptures say? What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'" ..."Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come...

What would constitute a proper reason to become a Christian?

Justified? I guess that depends on who is the one deciding "just". No one expects to be justified in a court room by breaking the law. However, I am sure the defendant felt his actions were justified in some manner but the plaintiff and the judge would not. Positive? Positive as in...

    Earthquakes

I find nothing wrong with seeing these earthquakes as signs of the end times. From the scriptures we are told not to be ignorant of the times but we are to live and know that we we do live in the end times so that we might be real in our profession and live each day with the thought that it...

    Why Faith?

When we consider the account of Paul writing to the church in Rome (Romans 3) What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; 11there...

    God's Knowledge and "Free Will"

Ah brother I see. :) although Charles Spurgeon was a stanch Calvinist but he insisted upon free agency as well. But I hear you I dislike titles as well I think more often they are used to divide Christians than to unite them. Is Christ divided, though more often than not we are, I always have to...

    God's Knowledge and "Free Will"

I think to give you my reasoning might be of some use. I have argued free agency within the confines of predestination and foreknowledge. The reason I come to this path is the human condition. When I find that God created man and the heart which resides within him and that man has committed...
