  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    "teachings of men"

I guess we can pick and choose to ignore the scriptures that clearly defeat the your argument. Again ... read Numbers.

    "teachings of men"

The age of accountability begins at 20. Throughout the book of Numbers (above is just one example) God mentions that those under the age of twenty can go to the promised land. So it is written ... so it shall be.

    "teachings of men"

The teachings of men usually deal with the interpretation of achieving God's end. The questions that are asked that have led to differences of opinion, that have led to factions within the church. Paul dealt with Factions as well as teachings of men in Galations and Romans. There is only one...

Why did God command us to love one another?

I have come to realize that the question in and of itself is not asked often enough, if at all. The purpose of our loving one another is important because it would let us know if we are doing (loving) correctly. An example would be loving someone enough to tell them when they are wrong (I...

Here's a thread where Catholic's can give reputation to Catholic's

What about Captists? My mother is Catholic, and my father is Baptist. I was confirmed, but I still go to both church's. (I came to the conclusion that there is only one God, and Jesus is His only Begotten). Though I must say my initial take on my baptist brothers was that they shouldn't be...

Why did God command us to love one another?

I had thought the same way. And I agree that it does make sense that the end result of loving would on the surface result in peace ... but on the contrary ... to love one another does not mean to pity one another. My students have been forcing me to rethink my idea of what it means to love, and...

Why did God command us to love one another?

The question seems so simple, and it was recently asked of me by a student, and while I instantly wanted to answer so that we can have peace. Yet I was immedietly captivated by Luke 12:50-52 where Jesus specifically said He did not come to bring peace. Oddly enough my student pointed out to me...

Do you really believe God created time?

Did God create shadows? Or are shadows the result of the creation of light? Time is an illusion. It is relative to perspective (ie Einstiens theory of relativity). Example if I could move at the speed of light I could move from Los Angeles to New York in less than a second. Would you realize...

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. : No infadels in the Holy Land?

Has anyone ever pondered the possibility that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. may have been against the war because of his south east asian upbringing and not his concern for the troops? Am I beating a dead horse?

One God in two locations: The right hand of God

Matthew 26:64 "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." What is the best explaination for believing in the trinity and the son seated at the right...

What does the Law have to do with us?

I have accepted Christ's sacrifice as my replacement to the curse that the law brings and we find through Adam. That means that I am dead to the law and am no longer liable to the law. But by accepting Christ I have signed the new contract and my law in given by Christ with a simple yoke...

A Christian Pastor Denies Jesus is the only Way!!!

That is why I said you would have to ask the individual who it is that they worship. If I were speaking in Hebrew I could say YHWH and you would know I am speaking of the Creator. When you were to speak to a muslim and ask who is Allah ... many would say the Creator. You could even go so far as...

A Christian Pastor Denies Jesus is the only Way!!!

I am not going to go off the OP ... but I must declare that to me ... God is Love incarnate. At His essence He is Love. What else is worth living for, or worth dying for? What is spirit made from? What motivates life to continue? As romantic as it may sound, in Truth it is God/Love. We...

A Christian Pastor Denies Jesus is the only Way!!!

I feel it is necessary to say why I have come to this conclusion. There is only one God. He is Love. He loves truthfully, and always. Jew or Gentile, Muslim, or Athiest, we all have to answer to the One. What each individual believes is a choice that individual makes. Though God loves us all...
