  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In act of transparency, White House delays release of report on voting machine vulnerabilities ahead of US midterms

I suggest you consider the implication of suddenly worried about voting machines after the mantra "There is no fraud." If there is no fraud, then machine vulnerabilities don't matter. If, however, machine vulnerabilities matter, then there's a risk of that fraud that we're told doesn't exist...

    I believe this is blasphemous

For whatever reason, a few statements Jimmy Carter once made while in office come to mind. Once he was overheard muttering in church that the subject of the lesson / sermon "...probably blamed the United States: Everyone does." Then was his remark that he knew people were thinking better of him...

    I believe this is blasphemous

Given the photographic evidence of how the US presidency ages office holders, former US presidents might disagree.

New York City pours $15M into sex change initiatives as Mamdani accuses federal government of intimidation

Those who vote for them support it, and from the looks for things quite a few do.

In act of transparency, White House delays release of report on voting machine vulnerabilities ahead of US midterms

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! That is the main issue here. That can be pointed out without the double-think "There is no fraud / there are vulnerabilities in election machines." It prevents whirling dervishes at trying to spin not reporting vulnerabilities around claims there is no fraud.

Woman Writes Book Offering Comprehensive ‘Scriptural Evidence That Trump Is Set Apart by God' and will Save America

On the contrary: The worship of political figures was old before the Romans took it up. Ignoring it the very same practice just because it happens in a favored party is overlooking something painfully obvious at every televised campaign headquarters on election nights. Now: You've touched on...

Woman Writes Book Offering Comprehensive ‘Scriptural Evidence That Trump Is Set Apart by God' and will Save America

Right after Obama was elected, a woman came into our office, and when she didn't get what she wanted said that she had Jesus Christ, and if Jesus Christ didn't help her, Obama would. Unfortunately, there is always plenty of that to go around regardless of the political figure.

Woman Writes Book Offering Comprehensive ‘Scriptural Evidence That Trump Is Set Apart by God' and will Save America

This is what we used to refer to as [Supermarket Name Redacted] Doctrine. That's because when you walked into a certain supermarket, near the entrance was a book carousel of supposed religious books with questionable doctrines. The one that sticks out was a book claiming that Christ would return...

    How the Right promotes socialism

If socialism and communism aren't becoming popular, then Mamdani wouldn't be mayor of NYC and those he supported wouldn't have won primaries. That's what their constituents voted for. Given how these precincts have voted Democrat in recent elections, odds favor these candidates winning the...

In act of transparency, White House delays release of report on voting machine vulnerabilities ahead of US midterms

Well then, if voter fraud claims are falsehoods, then why get knickers in a wad over not reporting vulnerabilities? This thread is trying to have it both ways, but all it does is undercut the "no fraud" claim. If there is no fraud, then no report doesn't matter. If, however, there is fraud, then...

Trump to use wartime powers to promote Coalie

Irrelevant. Because it's not needed at the moment doesn't mean it won't, and often quicker than thought. All it takes is a heat wave. Been there, done that. Like it or not, if you want reliable electric generation and you don't build power storage, you're going to have to have an alternate form...

DC reaches court settlement with man detained while protesting troops’ patrol with Darth Vader song

Be that as it may, given that the Imperial March has become a staple of college bands at football games, kind of wondering about the protest value. The Colonel Bogey March would have more protest value, but the connotation would be lost on many today, as would the Liberty Bell march. The main...

Christianity Being Scrubbed from the American Story

We're tenting tonight on the old camp ground Give us a song to sing Our weary hearts a song of home And friends we love so dear Many are the hearts that are weary tonight Praying that the war would cease Many are the hearts that are looking for the right To see the dawn of peace Tenting...

Trump warns ‘godless communists’ will turn cities into slums as Dems fail to fight socialist surge

An odd question. The 1st Amendment isn't predicated on people always choosing the right thing; it's preventing government from squelching unpopular speech. As a case in point, note what happened under the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, not even a decade after the ratification of the Bill of...

Mamdani-backed DSA candidate’s win in NYC district leaves residents reeling: ‘No real roots in the neighborhood’

A quick check shows that NY 13th District has voted overwhelmingly Democrat for representatives since 2018. Odds favor her election in November.
