  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To Bible College or not To Bible College: That is the Question

I definitely agree that you need to make sure that college you are looking at is accredited. I will say that when looking at Northwest University, I double checked to make sure they were an accredited college and they are. Its a strong program, good school, accredited.

To Bible College or not To Bible College: That is the Question

I think what you study is more important than where you go if you want to get into ministry or church planting or missions. A Bible college is good for sure because many programs at a Bible college include a minor in Bible. But any Christian college that offers a ministry degree will have a...

    Returning to College?

Hi! I know this is a bit of an older thread. But yes to answer your question. There are lots of older individuals who are going back to college, for more schooling, or for career changes. What exactly do you mean by older though?

Is a moderate/liberal Christian college possible?

I see what you are saying PloverWing. I looked at that job description. To an extent I'm sure UVF wants Assembly of God faculty because that is the denomination the college is rooted in. But in terms of belief differences between AG and other denominations the only one I think would be...

When did you get serious about applying to college?

I really started looking at colleges my Junior year of high school. I spent time goofing off in high school also my Freshman year and my GPA suffered. But I was able to get it up over the next 2 years to get into college. But toward the end of Junior year and over the summer I was applying and...

Returning to College: online vs physical building

In your scenario an online degree might be best. It would allow you to stay in Taiwan and with online classes you usually only take one course at a time. So you could continue to be a full time missionary. I know Northwest University offers online degrees in similar area that you are looking to...

    College?

I know this is an older thread, but if you are still looking at going back school for ministry a school I would recommend is the University of Valley Forge. They are a smaller school in Pennsylvania. They are an AG college but they are very devoted to a Christ-centered curriculum. If you have...

    College courses and opinions.

College is really about learning about yourself and learning what you want to do after college. No one can answer that question for you. So what do you want to study? I say go for it. Don't be concerned with others will perceive your course choices. It also is a good idea if you are undecided to...

Is a moderate/liberal Christian college possible?

I know that the University of Valley Forge specifically with their online programs do not require you to be a Christian to attend. But their curriculum is Christ-centered. So if you go there you are getting a Christian education but a Christian from any background can attend.

I graduated from Messiah College with a BA in Broadcasting. Thinking about going back to school though. Just researching schools now. Not sure what I would study
