  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Women becoming pastors?

The first article was quite interesting, though they seem to be speculating rather than making any significant claim; still an interesting read. The second article was informative. I've always found myself to identify on some level with the Lutheran denomination (as all Christians should, to...

    Women becoming pastors?

Excellent article, describes brilliantly the role of the deacon, I must say it is one of the most cohesive explanations I have read in my time. It's recognitions of the diversity of the role as well as the the various giftings of persons, as well as the acknowledgment that women can have such...

    Women becoming pastors?

I feel this has come down to personal preference now. Besides, different people have different roles and giftings (1 Corinthians 12). Hence why several churches have several pastors, such as Youth pastors, music pastors etc. And to keep it relevant to the topic, I feel that a woman can have any...

    Are instruments in worship allowed?

I understand your point, whereby the goal is to worship God, however can't worshipping God be entertaining? I'm not suggesting you're saying otherwise, but I am saying that you are judging these worship leaders for their motives. Worship comes from the heart, and Scripture teaches that only God...

    Are instruments in worship allowed?

True, and I understand your point, whereby you don't want to place more reverance on the music than on God, but rock music is a musical style, and if you are trying to incinuate that there is something inherently evil to rock music, I find that wrong to suggest. It's about the heart behind the...

    Are instruments in worship allowed?

Psalm 150:3-5 says, "Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals." So clearly instruments were permitted, even encouraged, in Old Testament...

    Women becoming pastors?

There is a distinct difference between misinterpreting the Bible and actually saying that the Bible is outdated. The Bible is the Word of God; an unchanging God. The only change that occurs in terms of what God asks His people to do is seen in the creation of the New Covenant in Jesus Christ...

    Women becoming pastors?

People's issue seems to be purely the title of the woman. Every time a Biblical example has been put forward, it's been reponded to with statements resembling, 'yeah, but, they weren't a pastor,' and the fact that they were doing everything that a pastor does, such as teach, inspire, lead Godly...

    Women becoming pastors?

"What we're pointing out to you is that the Bible has different roles for different people and, in this case, does not allow women into pastor or elder roles." Galatians 3:26-28 'For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you were baptized into Christ have put on...

    Women becoming pastors?

The way I see it, if God can speak to Balaam through the mouth of a donkey (Numbers 22), how can you justify saying that God can't speak through women? You need to remember that Paul is writing with a certain context, and in this circumstance he is writing in a society where women are...

    Baptist Church Hires Lesbian pastors

First of all, so people really recognise how truly radical this action is. Several churches would be shocked to even recognise a woman as being a pastor of their church, something rather common in Baptist churches. To then recognise a homosexual female couple is even more extreme. I am a firm...
