  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Far from Perfect

Nobody's perfect. We all make mistakes. I'm only human. Any of these sound familiar? Chances are we have all said them. Some of us, and I'm guilty of this, over use them. The fact of the matter is, that while these are true, God does expect us to be perfect. He made us in His image...

I appreciate the insight. considering myself still daily new to faith, I love any feedback I can get. I love learning from his word, as well as other people's views. A for who is our neighbor, everyone is. "Whatever you do for the least of these, you are doing for me"

What's Love got to do with it?

Webster's defines love as "a strong attraction brought about by affection or desire". I love my wife and kids. I have a great desire to be near them, and be affectionate towards them. I love my church, and I enjoy serving them. I can wrap my mind around these. How about this, "I love my...

How do you worship the Lord?

I attend church bi-weekly, and attend a men's fellowship night on the off weeks. I pray to God each morning, with coffee in hand, or first thing in the afternoon if I work that night. I also pray several times throughout the day as I feel needed. I also read His word daily, sometimes at 2 to3...

How many times a week do you attend church?

My work schedule only allows me to go every other weekend, but I do a fellowship messing on the off week. The weekends I attend, I serve 1 service and attend the next. AS Others have said, there is no set number. But, keep in mind that Jesus himself said "For where two or three gather together...

    a conflict of thinking

I don't think you are alone in this. I think this could be said of many Christians. Some times we find ourselves second guessing what is to be for us, but if a stay focused, we will eventually figure things out through him. Remember, Romans 3:23 states: For everyone has sinned; we all fall...

Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right

I think it's no doubt an area most of us can improve in. Fortunately, we have a God who understand we have flaws, and he will work in us to make things better.

Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right

How many times have you heard this: "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you?" Sometimes that's easier said than done. Sometimes we let our emotions get in the way. Sometimes we want revenge for the wrong against us. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:38-42 how to handle these...

It's a good day to die

Don't worry, I'm not going to commit suicide, or do something to get myself killed. This doesn"t have anything to do with "physical" death, it's all about conviction. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:31 that he dies to himself daily. Every day he would convict himself and die to sin, to be...
