    Stanley Kubrick, great or overrated?

I wasn't saying that art was only about the sunny side of life. I was just saying that alot of films gravitate toward the negative aspects of people and society. They also put that stuff on a pedistal and glorify it. Believe me, I work on videos that only deal with sunny-side stuff, and even...

    Stanley Kubrick, great or overrated?

plus there's the whole thing of guarding your heart too. I saw a Clockwork Orange and to be honest with you, I didn't think that it was that great of a film. Kubrick tends to focus his lens on the negative aspect of society and humanity, and people praise this and call this art. Why glorify...

    Are any of you Filmmakers?

right now I'm doing a sorta amalgamation of documnetary/news for a church that I intern at. They are pretty straight forward 4 min. videos. Very light-hearted fair. The lighting is pretty TV-ish which I don't like. We always have to spend hour sweetening the audio because some people don't...

Looks like the Wachowski brothers stole the idea for The Matrix

what I don't understand is how does the terminator fit into all this? Didn't James Cameron release that movie back around '81? And where can I find here manuscript for "The Third Eye"? Has she written anything else?

    Stanley Kubrick, great or overrated?

Many of his films were about things that were pretty in your face. He had a very ambiguous way of presenting things which I think turned alot of people off. And I'll be honest with everyone here and say that I didn't really think eyes wide shut was all that great of a movie. I only really...

    The Passion of Christ

I saw it twice at the theater. The first time I had to go right from the movie to a friend's house for a get together. I was quiet the rest of the night. I felt so burned out. The second time I saw it, I sat motionless for a good twenty minutes with tears streaming down my face.

    Edward Scissorhands?

there's the scene where the woman is trying to seduce him, that's all I can think of. It's supposed to be a modern day fairy-tale/ morality play. Edward is very cfhild-like in his outlook on things. It's kind of a growing-up type movie.

    Revenge of the Sith

I agree with nightwing. GL has really lost touch with what makes a good movie. He really embodies the way hollywood as a whole is at this point, they've lost touch with what movie goers really want these day. They think it's a formula which is about 50 years old. Hollywood needs an enima!

    Batman Begins

all the villians were ruined the first time around. Dang Hollywood!
