  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Would you date outside your denomination?

I put know, but I will say I wont hook up with someone brand new to the faith.

If God defines justice and love...

So we, as imitators of God, (Eph. 5:1) should have a general love for all, but abstain from loving them in the fullest way possible? How do we differentiate between these two loves we should have (if Calvinism is correct) for others then? How do we decide who we love in the more fuller sense...

    Spiritual Death

If Jesus did experience spiritual death on the cross, did he also suffer in a literal fiery hell where he burned for three days?

What is the difference between Spirit and Soul?

Heart, Mind, and Strength in Luke 10:27 Another objection made against trichotomy is this: if 1 Thes 5:23 is interpreted as referring to trichotomy, then Luke 10:27 teaches man has five parts. In the synoptic Gospels Christ quoted Deut 6:5 when He identified the greatest command-ment: "You shall...

Naah, I'm not offended, I promise. I'll pray that you allow God to get you to a place in Him where you are grounded and established in the faith, and the areas of doubt you have as far as for the Father's provision for your life will become a thing of the past. If I'd be able to come, I would...

Has God forgiven you of your sins? Did He send His Son, Christ Jesus, who of His own choice, died for your sins? Did this Jesus raise Himself from the dead and ascend to to heavens? Does He now sit at the right hand of God as Lord/King and Judge? If so, then God has provided a way for you to be...

For sure Chris, no doubt. And for many reasons as well, and I trust you agree. I have a question for you. What do you think of the following, especially the bolded part? "We tend to take everything Paul said as a command, and it is probably the safest policy to do so. However, Paul sometimes...

This does seem to be the main theme of the scriptures concerning marrying unbelievers. For example, Jesus said Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against...

Well said Luther. According to Scripture, Christ isn't just a big part of our life, He is our life. The old man (the spiritual being we once were in Adam) died, being crucified with Christ, and was buried with Him. Upon repentance and faith (conversion) we became new creations in Christ Jesus...

Why would you be sorry? Usually people apologize when they have done something wrong, or are about to do something wrong. Something to think about. Also, in light of what you said, what do you think about the following?: I think that a Christian who desires to marry a non-Christian is...

While there are cases of Christians winning over their non-Christian spouses, or the children growing up to be uncomprimised disciples of Christ despite the spiritual division of their parents, these cases are the minority among unequally yoked couples and parenting, and one who hopes to beat...

After reading and posting in another thread, I thought of something that needs to be said and presented here at the singles section of Christian forums. Since choosing a mate is a huge decision, here is what I am posting. It is by a bible teacher I have enjoyed and found to be a solid, down to...

How long have you been single?

If only we could all get that. One of the reasons that Christians divorce is that they bring baggage (whether emotional or mental) into their marriage. So now, they are not the only one that has to deal with their issues. Their mate does too, and possibly vice versa. Often times it's these very...

Calvin was great in his justification by faith, which is what was presented as holy truths to pull down the religious doctrines of the catholics. He did, however, err on some things though.
