  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Silence - a sonnet

Silence - a sonnet As introvert I must confess to be A one who tends to shun the madding crowd, And often in soft morning reverie Enwrapped in sweetest silence can be found. The Word that aptly lays upon our minds Tall visions of the sweep of grandest deeds May also, in the silence, choose to...

    From Time to Time

From Time to Time From time to time, now and then, I ponder places I have been And all the folks who now reside In memories, where flows a tide Of supplication for the days That danced entranced before the haze Of heavy-hearted transformation Canceled ways of celebration. Innocence belongs to...

Fifty traditional poetry forms - Part 5

Meadow Reflecting - A Villanelle Though paucity of spirit plagues my steps, And load of daily lifting breaks my back, Her scent upon the meadow fills me yet. Immersed in somber cycles that beset, I strain to ascertain that higher track, Though paucity of spirit plagues my steps. It seems the...

If we are not looking to look intelligent.

Enfleshed Is A Good Place To Be Enfleshed is a good place to be, Though saddled with seeing how zest can recede And feeling our presence may threaten the trees, Enfleshed is a good place to be. In thinking of life above ground, It's true that there often are reasons to frown, But two can get...

If we are not looking to look intelligent.

Prodigal It's easy to splinter, abandon our center, Abort the narrow way, Throw off the yoke, grab life by the throat, Saw through encroaching staves. Once out of the barrel, so free, so feral, There's nought can stop us now, In land without limits, no one can condemn us, Unleashed, to nothing...
