  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christ is Risen. How do you say it?

The German translation is wrong: It's: Christus ist auferstanden.

    Never dated

I haven't been on a date since I became a Christian. I was asked out a few times but either by non-Christians or Christians I couldn't imagine being with.

Do You Believe in a 'Young Earth'?

As a scientist myself I definitely believe in a young earth. Actually, the more wild theories I hear about our 'oh so very old earth', the more I believe that they're all just making stuff up. ^_^

Am I taking the wrong approach

So true! It's really mean, but that's what girls do. I haven't met many girls who would actually "focus on their career" if the man of their dreams stood before them. Getting friendzoned is also a problem IMO.

    Getting Notice

non-christians and/or stalkers  I know some really attractive guys I have a good connection with but their all non-christians (too bad!). Most of the guys that are attracted to me are really creepy and tend to stalk me. ?!!

What unspoken rules do you have for yourself?

At home I have this one-minute rule. If a task only takes you one minute or less to do and you could do it right now instead of later, you have to do it. e.g. You could either walk to the kitchen and quickly rinse the cup you just used (which takes you about a minute) or you could leave it on...

    Ladies - Rank these men

Good idea for a thread! Mr B has a lot of money, works hard, and is highly respected by his friends and colleagues. Totally the man of my dreams. I don't care too much about the money, but I love it when men work hard and are respected by others. Also, I'm a bit of a workaholic myself. Mr A...

    Weird dealbreakers

Haha that does sound like a bad start :sorry:^_^ But these are just my weird dealbreakers - I'm sure there are plenty of women that don't care about this or find it attractive.

    Weird dealbreakers

Interesting answers! My deal breakers: A guy... - with long hair - wanting to be a stay at home dad - talking about his 'graphic memory' or his intelligence all the time without ever delivering - who is a vegan - who's into medieval festivals and stuff

Easiest way for women to get married.

I totally agree that one has to think about his standards/expections. Personally, I don't need much money to get by and I'd be fine with someone that has some job/job perspective or education. Just so you can make it work. His walk with God, however, would be one of the points I'd have high...

Easiest way for women to get married.

Well, we CAN have high expectations - we only need to find ONE husband. ;) Remember that we have to trust you with our home, our children and with final decisions. But I have to admit that some women have expectations that are contradictory and make it impossible for a guy to please the woman...

Love, Lust, cheating & Heartbreak questions

I will always love my first love. That doesn't mean that he could show up at the alter when I get married and I'd marry him instead or that I'm longing for him. It's sad but I think that a little part of your heart is always reserved for that person. However, I haven't met my future husband yet...

    Scientists

I'm glad that there are scientists out there that don't have to work crazy hours, but I've never heard that before. Other than the technicians no one I know works just 40-50 hours. I assume that you're working with cells in your industry: don't you have to feed or split them on the weekends...
