  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Comparing Israel and the Church

Yea, I think Eze 37 is referring to Israel's final salvation as a nation. But they became "one nation" millennia ago. Trouble is, they went into Diaspora for a couple of thousand years. The present peace deal between Trump, Netanyahu, and Gaza gives temporary hope. We know biblical prophecy...

    Is futurism necessarily premillennial?

I usually think of Futurism as synonymous with Premillennialism, but apparently this necessarily the case. I can see that Futurists may see a future Antichrist, and yet deny a literal Millennium will take place after Christ's 2nd Coming. Dispensationalism is Premillennial, but not all...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

My position is that God promised Abraham nations who generally hold to faith as a principle of their society--it obviously includes both people of faith and those who abandon that faith. I understand your own position, and it's respectable. It obviously is an issue that is not easily resolvable.

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

Sure, I was just asked the same question on another forum. Here's how I replied.... "Abraham was promised "nations" in Gen 17. In the NT Scriptures that promise is reaffirmed, although obviously Christian nations had not yet evolved. What we do see is Jesus saying that the Kingdom of God (in...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

Where did Jesus say what? What specifically are you denying Jesus said? Jesus commissioned his disciples to go 1st to the Jews in Israel. Paul reached out to the Jews 1st in exile. I agree. It's not the "Jews" you replace, but the nation Israel. They have a promised place among the Christian...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

I thought I already answered this? See post #10. The spiritual Kingdom is here, but the Kingdom of heaven is not yet established on earth, meaning that kings who rebel against the Lord have not yet been subdued with Christ actually imposing political realities on the earth in a permanent way...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

I'm not in disagreement with you. I've said the same before, although I'm not a Preterist. Like Preterists I've argued that many signs Jesus gave in his Olivet Discourse were fulfilled in his generation as warning signs prior to the 70 AD judgment. Preaching the Gospel in throughout the Roman...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

Again, this was not relevant to the conversation we were having. We were talking about whether the Kingdom is already here or not, as I understood it. We were not discussing whether the Kingdom will come at all! All Christians believe there will be a New Earth, and that Christ's Kingdom will...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

I agree with you and OSAS. I didn't call me to be Saved, though I know many are called to Christianity. God called me not just to Christianity but to be Saved, as well. I couldn't have even known I needed it, nor could I be good enough to want it. He simply revealed something to me, who is...

The Son of Man and the Throne Room

The point is, Jesus does not yet reign over a realized Kingdom of Heaven on the earth. That is what is coming, and that is what he is not yet king over because it simply is not yet realized. Consider the future tense here... Rev 11.15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud...

Sorry, Dan, but I don't know what you're saying. I assure you I've read all that you think I haven't read.

    Comparing Israel and the Church

Israel is in rebellion against God the same way all people are in any nation. But God obligated Himself to Abraham to produce a nation in covenant with Himself, and even in thheir falling away God has obligated Himself to restore them. People are blessed when they pray for the restoration of...

    The Holy Spirit

I've always felt God was with me, since I was dedicated as a child to the Lutheran faith. An early experience with God's presence happened the 1st time I went from nursery to children's Sunday School. I walked in to a gathering of children downstairs at church, for the 1st time without my...

    Comparing Israel and the Church

This is a nice exchange of ideas with someone who shared some basic truths of the Gospel, in contrast with the failures of Judaism.... Someone said: In these verses we see a man who, although at one time was full of hatred, now displays love for his fellow man. As a one time zealous Pharisee...
