Subsequently, if one felt bad for having had the thought and reviewed the thought, and thus reviewed the sin by thinking what the bad thought was - would that be a sin? - after all the evil thought is still in ones mind

    Hi, you know when you have evil thoughts. sometimes youd want to review them to prove to yourself that they arent really your fault. But when you review these thoughts you are thinking about them... is that a sin in itself??

    sorry violet, but what do u mean by both? is a general prayer for forgiveness okay or do we need to ask forgiveness for each and every sin? if it is the second; wont some sins inevitably go unconfessed?

    i like Bob's reply. but i think as violet said, we should not just pray for absolution for their sins but also pray for their direction and that they come to know God...
