  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Gothic // Sub-Culture - Views Please

There is certainly nothing wrong with being Gothic in my book. I know a great deal of goths, because for some reason, my school has an unusually high concentration of those styling themselves as goths, and yet, of all of them, it seems that no more are "Bad," than I would expect out of...

    What is CF teaching you?

It's not really taught me much I didn't figure out elsewhere... It did, however, further confirm some of my observations - Namely: 1.There are good and bad on both sides of the line. We know what line I speak of. 2. I'm not the only level headed atheist out there. Y'know, the level headed ones...

If God commanded you to kill someone, would you?

Aye, but if God speaks to you and gives you the order, doesn't that confirm your God? That's like saying "I know Christianity's right... but I've always liked Hinduism..."

Would you attend a gay wedding?

Same as if they were straight - it would depend on whether or not I actually thought of them as friends. As for the other two, no question about it - I'd go.

    Saddam

First of all, Saddam got what he deserved - I can only hope his neck didn't snap, if onlythat he had to suffer more. Following that, yeah, the hoods were undoubtedly to protect the identities of the hangmen. Following that, the civilian clothes were probably to help send the message that it...

Science told: hands off gay sheep

If there were research on how to make straight babies gay, my guess is that it would get shut down immediately, in part because such a procedure could in theory drastically deplete the population of the world. Of course, no one would let it be done to them, which is a reason it isn't being...

    Nudist/Naturist your thoughts?

Hey, if you're into that, I'm fine with that. I prefer covering up for two reasons, though: One is that winters are cold here, and the other is that clothes can be used as a form of self expression. Nudity, to a point, but you can only be nude in one way. Clothes can be worn in so many, and they...

    gay child

I know a lot of straight people that are jerks, and do stuff just for attention. The point I was making was that out of five, three were jerks, and one was doing it for attention. In my experience, while a great many straight people are jerks, three out of five aren't. That is a seriously bad...

    gay child

Well, first I would make sure that they knew that there wasn't anything wrong with it from my point of view. Following that, I would simply hope they aren't gay like most of the gay people I know - out of five, only one is a nice guy. Three are absolute jerks, for no reason whatsoever, and the...

god is love and hope, do names matter?

Insofar as I can tell, what he is asking is derivative of a classic cliche - "A rose by any other name..." What he is saying is that slaves more or less retained their own religious beliefs, except instead of calling their gods by their native names, they called them Christianized names like God...
