  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Job's Sin...

Greetings to you too in Jesus name. I had to read Job 9 again to try and understand your take. I didn’t see anything confirming Job’s soul being in jeopardy. In the first chapter of Job, the whole thing began with Satan coming to the gathering of the sons of God as if he were one of them...

    Job's Sin...

Amen my brother, thank you and really good to hear from you. God bless you. (Wait, I say, on the Lord)

    Job's Sin...

This is the first time I've heard Job's trials were because of sin, and that his sin was self righteousness? Also I didn't know self righteousness itself was a sin. Job is a great book in the bible, an experience most of us saved out of distresses can identify with, but the interpreations run...

    Leading someone to Christ?

With the Jews the focus of repentance was the sinful deed, but with God I believe it's the wicked way, for he looks on the heart. If you're baptized into Christ your sins are past, you don't serve it neither live in it, and they have no consequence. The law can't condemn you, Satan can't...

    Homophobes

Homosexuality is a corruption through lust, and heterosexuality is not. But all sinners are evil, and none of them can know it without coming to the light. It's up to us to entreat them. We come in peace, proclaiming peace by the gospel.

    Homophobes

Hi pescador, There you go again defending sinners from the judgment of the righteous. I don't believe you expected to provoke love by your comments, which makes me wonder if you might be expressing pain, only because you recently broke away from your church over similar conflicts. I don't...

What does this passage mean to you?

Amen Norah. It's also the word for those yet carnal. Christ crucified. Great scripture...makes all the difference. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of...

What does this passage mean to you?

Hi Neogaia, your post does help. I agree as Christians we should separate the letter of the law from the spirit, in terms of how we serve it. This is something which cannot be done without God for man is carnal. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe...

What does this passage mean to you?

Blessings ryND. I agree, we need both faith and works. The way I see it, James was advocating the royal law, love thy neighbor as thy self, telling the Jews that despising the poor made them transgressors. He was concerned and exhorting them, but when he said "faith without works is dead"...

No denomination suits me... Need advice

1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. I've wondered which church would such a person - with all knowledge and understanding -...

Satan as a temporary "tutor" for some?

In the context of 1 Corinthians 5, I think destruction of the flesh means loss of life in the flesh, it's pleasures, treasures and vitality, through demonic affliction. It leaves the soul bare, destitute, and thirsting for life, with no man to help. It's a time when God is found. It has...

    Contradictions in 1John?

1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. I think leaven was the threat that solicited Paul's response. And I can't apply his action across the board, because it was a specific situation requiring a specific action. Many Pastors...

    Contradictions in 1John?

Satan would love Christians to believe he is God's bad dog, which God seeks on people in judgment. Thinking Satan is allowed to punish you is self defeating if you suffer such affliction. He has no place in Jesus. The devil takes people captive of his own mind and will. He was waring against...

    Character?

Hi Bramwell. I agree we all behave a certain way in public, complying with the protocol, whether its in church, at work, or dinner in a fine restaurant. Though we are all unique the image conforms to social mores. It's for self promotion and maintained in the public eye. I guess Friday...
