    Is suicide always sin?

No, he wouldn't have... You make a great point, but Jesus was never presented with a situation where the welfare of others were at stake. Well, not that I know of at least. I mean, what about Marytrs?

    Is suicide always sin?

I see, I'd give it much comtemplation before committing an act like that.

    Is suicide always sin?

Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. Would God really punish me for doing a greater good. It goes along with the other sins, such as lying.

    Is suicide always sin?

Going into war soon, this thought came about to me. I'm never sure what position I might end up upon, what if I find myself within a position where suicide is the absolute best option, not only for myself but for the welfare of others. Or am I supposed to live through everything, even though...

    I need a sign...

    Thank you both.

    I need a sign...

I asked God for a spiritual sign as a direction a while ago, it was presented to me in a very weird manner and wasn't truly clear to me... I really could not tell if this "sign" was not just a coincidence, because looking at it now it could very well be. I'm not exactly sure how praying works...

What languages were the Old and New Testament first written in?

Van, that makes total sense... God may have created us in his image, but we do live in this physical world by the laws of nature God created, yet God lives beyond these laws we live and built from. Perhaps WE don't make sense. And thank you Wiltor, this leads to my origional thought; man may...

What languages were the Old and New Testament first written in?

Thanks, this does raise another question; so did God tell man word for word what to write down in the bible? Or how? If so, why didn't god just write it hmself and give it to us. Makes more sense.

Why can't Jews say God's name?

    1) Oh is it? I always thought it was used as a placeholder with nouns taken out. That leads to a minor question though, in the Hebrew Bible; does it say YHVH or does it say YHWH? I mean, I know it's in Hebrew lettering but why do I see both types of the Tetragrammaton?

Why can't Jews say God's name?

I know they consider it holy, and even the words the use in place (Such as YHVH or YHWH, Adonai, Etc...) should not even be written or said without intense care. Yet why would God himself tell them his name, when they won't even use it. Just wondering. Also, do Christians restrict speaking or...

What languages were the Old and New Testament first written in?

Thank you, but that does raise a question; why was the New Testament written in Greek anyways?

What languages were the Old and New Testament first written in?

I understand that, but I truly believe you can't get the most out of it in it's altered forms. Since the translations required much thought and interpretation, I believe there could be room for error. I may be going too far in my personal beliefs, but I still am grateful for you answering my...

What languages were the Old and New Testament first written in?

I thought they were God's words himself? Only that man did truly write it down, it needed not interpretation but simply written?
