Please don't sidetrack this thread into the "Literal Interpretation of the Bible Debate." The point was that the immergence of man and intelligence is, supposively, rather mysterious and abrupt. It could've been caused by a god, or aliens, or just the natural course of evolution.

It's not literally infinite. Just near-infinite due to the size.

Virtual particles, from what I understand, are created from quantum fluctuations in a vacuum. They pop in as positive and negative pairs and annihilate each other, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. How did they find this out? I think the Casimir Effect is a good example of it...

That's all fine and dandy, but there's nothing we observe in nature that points to such a conclusion. Granted, you may be right, but you no way of providing any evidence to support it. So don't be surprised when some people have no belief in a god or the supernatural.

I don't think it will ever be possible to actually physically push an object past the speed of the light. Einstein's Theory of General Relativity prohibits that and we all know Einstein was a genius. So we'll have none of that! The question remains, though, is how fast can space itself...
