  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is Getting a Vasectomy a Sin? What Does the Bible Say?

I would definitely say that it is a sin. I am not surprised that after having the vasectomy sex isn't the same...you have removed a major component from "the marital act". One purpose for unifying the spouses and the other for procreation. Birth Control and sterilization is a sin because it...

    Masturbation... is it wrong?

Thanks to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, I do know what He had in mind. Here's the explanation: By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant...

    Masturbation... is it wrong?

God didn't create us with masturbation in mind. That's another deviant sexual behavior that has it's roots in selfishness!

Is the Use of Birth Control Prohibited by God's Word?

The following excerpt is taken from an article called Birth Control and it can be found in the Catholic Answers website. Contraception is wrong because it’s a deliberate violation of the design God built into the human race, often referred to as "natural law." The natural law purpose of sex is...

    Swearing, cursing, ect

The following is taken from James 3:6-12 And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is an unrighteous world among our members, staining the whole body, and set on fire the cycle of nature, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has...

    Contraception

Couples who use Natural Family Planning never remove the procreative aspect from the marital act because it goes hand-in-hand with the unitive aspect of the marital act…that’s the way God intended it to be. On the other hand, couples who contracept reduce sex to merely a pleasure-seeking sexual...

    Contraception

In my attempt to answer your questions I have found excerpts from the following letter by the Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Colorado. It’s entitled Of Human Life- A pastoral letter to the people of God of northern Colorado on the truth and meaning of married love. 12. But why can't a married...

    Contraception

Natural Family Planning is just that…Natural. Contraceptives like condoms, the diaphragm, the Pill etc are all UNNATURAL. The reason why my husband and I choose NOT to use contraceptives is because we give GOD every opportunity to bless us with children if that be His will. I agree that a...

    Contraception

The answer to your question is found in the following article. I have taken an excerpt…the article by Christopher West is called “God, Sex, & Babies: What the Church Really Teaches about Responsible Parenthood”. John Paul wrote in Familiaris Consortio that “the difference, both anthropological...

    Contraception

As a Catholic I would have to say "no' to contraception or another means by which a man or woman is sterilized to prevent a pregnancy. WHY? Here's what the Catholic Catechism says: A child does not come from outside as something added on to the mutual love of the spouses, but springs from...

    Contraception

Why is it that before the 1930 Lambeth Conference all Christian denominations considered artificial contraceptives NOT to be morally permissable? Why did things change?

    Contraception

The times and society may change but God and His word remains the same... "Be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28). Society has changed no question. Unfortunately, one change made by society is its views of children. In the Psalms we see that children were considered blessings: Your wife...
