  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Romans 9 on Election

Hi Sandman, thank you for your response. I will try to re-read it in the light you mentioned again. But just to check - does it mean you are implying that God has one standard for Israel and one standard for Gentiles when it comes to Election? Thanks and GBU!

Hey @Lifelong_sinner , may I ask why did you stop despite the rules? You could take it in your own personal capacity. Or is it due to the consequences like how I felt in my original post in this thread?

    Romans 9 on Election

Hi all, I would like to politely seek your view on this. This chapter has troubled me many times over. I was originally from view (2) below, but after re-reading Romans 9 many times and even noting the response that Paul gives to the anticipated reactions ("What shall we say then? Is there...

    Better to not take communion?

Just wanted to say thank you everyone for all the replies! I have definitely been encouraged so far to continue with the communion, as Jesus said do this often in remembrance of Him. But am still open to more thoughts and sharings too! I believe if my thoughts and heart is right to the best...

    Better to not take communion?

Thanks HT for your reply! I agree with you but somehow if one were to be in a non-ready state unknowingly, then according to the passage such judgment and weakness and death results. Seems quite a high price to pay, and better to just not participate since it is not necessary per se for...

    Better to not take communion?

Hi all, Referencing 1 Cor 11:29-30 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. Somehow it feels "safer" not to take part in the communion? Like while the...
