  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Atonement for Jews

As stated here, the laws of sacrifices will again be re-instituted. But my question is this: If the "Old Testament" sacrifices were a foreshadowing and were to be done away with because they're only good for a time, does this mean Jesus' sacrifice is not valid for eternity as supposed by...

    Atonement for Jews

One other thing, if I may. Our sages? Your icon indicates you're a Christian, not a Jew. Should you have said, "The sages" or the "Jewish sages" I'd have thought nothing of your comment. However, you did not; which then caused me to consider more closely the significance of your...

    Atonement for Jews

I am a Jew. And, to be quite honest, although I feel Judaism is a great religion and I am nothing but 100% Jewish, I do feel there are a number of issues I do not agree with. It’s as a ChaBaD Rabbi once told me. “Anyone who doesn’t believe any of the Midrash is an idiot and anyone who...

    Atonement for Jews

Indeed, there was no cause for my insult. I do apologize for offending you. I spoke harshly and it was inappropriate. Please accept my apology. Be Well, Mikha'el

    Atonement for Jews

Oh we like sheep have gone astray....have we not?....Believing the rhetoric and propaganda pushed on us by a couple of strewn together passages, which at first glance to the ignorant appear to connect. Just as those who teach the burnt parts on Matzah resemble the stripes by which you all are...

    Atonement for Jews

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned but I saw this post and thought of this week's parsha in the Torah. The passage is in Leviticus 5:11-13 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth...

As Simchat said, there is no connection The Davinci Code other than Paul Bettany. He's the psycho killer in the Davinci Code.

    The Prodigal Son

Hello all, I just wanted to say hi again. I've not been on the site since 2006 but recently found it again. For those that know me, and for those that don't......may HaShem bless you. Be well, Mikha'el

    Please comment on Deut 23:1-2

A mamzer is not one who is, as was suggested, the product of some lustful rage between two unmarried people. Consequently, it's not necessarily an issue of single parenthood and the child growing up without male and female rolls. The most obvious account of what happens with a mamzer would be...

    To Christians: Why Hell?

What the Christians call the Old Testament We Jews call it the TaNaKh. this is an acronym that stands for Torah (5 books of Moses), Nevi'im (prophets), and Ketuvim (writings). The books are ordered that way. Christian Old Testaments are a bit more of a chronological order. Below is the...

    To Christians: Why Hell?

Being that Christianity took the Jewish Bible, moved around the books and then added some at the end would seem to imply that the Christian Bible wouldn't support it as well. Mikha'el

For those with an interest in learning Hebrew

Shalom all, I personally have been using the series below. What makes it awesome is that it's not only a book, it also is mpeg videos. There are 17 lessons (including one for those that don't even know the alef beis) with 17 written shiurim to correspond to the lessons. What's great about this...

    Bride of Christ / Messiah

I can't get into it right now, but Lesha you are correct. How can one receive an invitation to the mariage supper table if they're supposed to be the bride sitting next to the groom. I'd like to say more, but at this time I'm pressed for time and tomorrow is father's day. I have a big day...
