  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    continuing churches

Some of the continuing Anglican denominations are quite 'low' church. Here in England the Free Church of England Evangelical Connexion is one such as is the Church of England ( Continuing).

    theory of atonement

It's the theories that cause most trouble. Sharing a meal, that's far more conducive to harmony. :)

Great article! "Duck Dynasty star gets bad rap on alleged 'racist' remarks"

We watched Duck Dynasty here ( we live in England) for the first time tonight. What a delightful show and how nice to see that entire family at prayer and then singing a Carol at the end of the programme. Those seem to be fine people.

    Clarification

We're a broad church with room for all sorts and conditions. Certainly here in England there's likely to be a Church of England congregation within easy commuting distance with a worship style to suit most liturgical tastes from low to high and all 'stations' in between.

Is there a RCIA equivelant for the Anglican Church?

Have a go.... The Prayer Book Society Best not to rush it. Factor in some expectant listening 'gaps' . Sometimes the old ways are the good ways. Enjoy. :)

    Reinstate Prayers for the Dead?

We're most of us Anglicans on here presumably. The thread 'tone' isn't perhaps, in parts; but we are. Apologies if any of my own contributions have caused offence. Such was unintentional howsoever unforgiveable. Some Anglicans pray for the dead as per my link to one of those CofE groups that do...

    Calvinism in the Anglican Communion

That is by far and the best approach. If someone wishes to be amongst folks comfortable with a single interpretation on dogmatics then one of the many 'continuing' causes would perhaps be a happier home church for them. Birds of a feather like to flock together. In our parish churches here...

    Reinstate Prayers for the Dead?

My bad. I'd, obviously mistakenly; thought that this was an Anglican thread. I'm done here. :)

    Reinstate Prayers for the Dead?

From the GoAS site. "Long ago the Holy Ghost said: It is a holy and wholesome thing to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from their sins. (II Macab. 12 : 46). Our Lord shed tears in seeing the tomb of Lazarus, and the Church, well acquainted with the feelings of her Divine Founder...

    Reinstate Prayers for the Dead?

I can't see any harm in praying for the dead. Those Guild people say they are simply continuing an old practice that fell out of use in the Anglican church. Walsingham Anglican Shrine is certainly one expression of Anglicanism. Others are available and birds of a feather do tend to flock...
