  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

who's the author? I haven't heard of this book before- are you still enjoying it Jen? Is it a good book to read before starting out or is it better for if you've been there for awhile?

    new job

Thanks ladies! I'm looking forward to it, but I know it will be a big adjustment, too. I am trying to decide how much I want to be involved- with his work especially (youth group, etc.) It would be nice to both be participating in stuff together, especially because I won't be involved in much...

    new job

My husband got his first ministry job this past week! He starts in a month. It's part time, but that works well since he has a couple more courses to complete for his degree. The church is about an hour away from our place, so it will involve lots of driving. :( He's going to be the youth and...

    Group Daily Bible Study

I don't get online very often, and not consistently. I think daily reading is good, but it seems like many of us could not regularly come online to participate. Perhaps there could be a weekly question/discussion thread where a major topic from the week's reading could be discussed? I'm...

    Prayer Request

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough week. I hope the weekend goes ok for you. I know commitments can feel uncomfortable at times. Is there a day this coming week that you guys can take to just be at home and sort though your own emotions? Praying for you guys!

    Do all Ministers Fall?

Wow, sorry to hear about all your rotten church experiences! That sounds like way too many weird things going on for one person to experience. I have only encountered one person in leadership who was gay, but when the church found out she was removed from her position because she was living with...

    Footwashing

I wasn't at the wedding, but my friend told me of a wedding where the bride and groom washed each others feet (the rest of the congregation didn't) They did it to show that they are equal partners in their marriage. They also had a plant that they planted, and then each guest added a handful...
