  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

where does mental illness end and sin begin

You're basing an entire theological position on a single person's life. Not on the Bible, not on sound doctrine, but on the story of a single chronically-depressed, psychotic, epileptic girl, who most likely was not possessed. Wow. Two years after Anneliese's death, a nun claimed to have had...

When? Who? Names? Dates? I hope by 'torment' you don't mean leading a Christian into Hell. But then, maybe you do since you seem to believe a Christian can be tricked out of his or her salvation -- I hope you don't. No one is saying a Christian is infallible. Being immune from possession...

There is no Plan B. There is only Plan A, and always was, and it is right on schedule. God knew before anything or anyone was created what it would take to end up where He wanted things to be -- with a people who love Him, who He loves. In order to get there, all things had to happen as they...

where does mental illness end and sin begin

A demon can only occupy an 'empty house.' Christians cannot be possessed because the Holy Spirit resides within us. We are not empty. http://carm.org/questions/about-demons/can-christians-be-demon-possessed Christians can, however, be demonically tempted and oppressed from outside.

    Epicurus Quote

God is the potter. We are the clay. We cannot question His motives or actions. He does as He wills, and we have nothing to say about it. He owes us nothing, but loves us deeply enough to have died in our place. One either trusts Him or one doesn't.

We have no way to know that. An extremely small percentage of the population suffers with this -- there could have been an awful lot of suicides (and deaths due to deliberately jumping into danger) down through the centuries. And it is a very callous and compassionless thing to suggest "they...

K, I'm done. You said in your opening post that your assertion was just your interpretation of things and that you wanted to discuss it. I discussed it. The theology I stated does exist was not my invention -- it is the doctrine of sola fide, is strictly Biblical and was established long...

I thought you insisted all XY's are male. You also keep insisting that homosexual men have feminized brains, which is not true -- their brains are male in structure (Swaab and Hofman, 1988, et al). If you refuse to accept the many studies showing a physical cause for gender dysphoria (which by...

The whole point of the Law was to point to Christ, whose coming and sacrifice secured our salvation in Him. When, as He died upon the Cross, He said, "it is finished," He meant it. Our salvation was secured. The Law had achieved its purpose, and so had He. Rewards will be given. Crowns...

My apologies. I misread the post.

You said that Genesis 2 shows that God 'set gender in stone,' and that he 'created them male and female.' I never said you are a bad Christian. I'm saying your Christian bias that anything sexual must be sin-related rather than organically-based is obvious. Please don't pretend it isn't...

And everything was accomplished at the Cross. Enjoy obeying your Law. Enjoy thinking God is impressed by the sweat of your brow. People have crawled across broken glass, or refrained from speaking for the rest of their lives, or starved themselves to death, thinking He would give them...

So, you accept that birth defects occur that give an intersexed person both male and female genitalia, regardless of genetics, but you refuse to believe that the brain, which is far more fragile than the genitals, can be similarly mis-gendered. Gender dysphoria is just another form of intersex...

It doesn't say that. It says they were the only chosen people on the planet. Paul said we are no longer under the tutor of the Law. There is no way to misread that. Either you follow the Law, or you follow Christ. We are to obey in the Spirit, not in the Letter. The difference is...

Deuteronomy 14:2: "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth." That seems pretty clear. Israel was the only chosen people, the only holy nation. Christian...
