  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Knowing, believing, not believing?

That is good. I definitely have considered that a lot. I do keep that in mind. The way I see it, even if it is something mimicking God or something bad it still validates that side of the spectrum and in turn validates both sides if that makes sense

    Knowing, believing, not believing?

There are these 'things'. Not sure what word to use, these 'events' that have occured during my life. I did not understand them and still don't completely, they were odd and troubling at the time. I'm an amatuer in regards to the Bible but these 'things' have brought me to the Bible, God...

Looking for an analogy in the Bible?

I don't want to muddy this up but if I were to ask the same question, in the same way except with the thought of Christmas added to it the original question. Is there a (confusion) to (order) to (more order) or possibly (sporadic) to (uniform) to (powerful) that might fit into Christmas? Or...

Looking for an analogy in the Bible?

Thank you so much, yes. My question was delivered to me in a manner that is a bit of a riddle to me too. The ideas you, and others, have posted here are very helpful though. Gives me some direction to look in, read about etc. My original question, I do think it is something similar to what...

Looking for an analogy in the Bible?

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm not even sure I'm describing the question correctly. It might be (confusion) to (order) to (more order) or (disorganized) to (organized) to (perfect) or (disorganized) to (organized) to (more organized)

Looking for an analogy in the Bible?

Are there a series of events in the bible that could or might fit into a pattern that goes from (chaos) to (order) then to (more order)?

Went to a church for the first time today

The past year or so I've found myself more interested in the bible than I have been in the past. Lately, I've wanted to go to a real church but have been apprehensive about it. I looked up churches in my area on the internet. I picked one out. I drove to it 2 times on different days and...
