  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    School

:wave:If you don't mind my asking, when you talk about a test score you don't want, what would that score be? In other words, what is the lowest you're willing to accept? I ask this because when I went back to college, a 95 on a test or essay would disappoint me.. I'm just wondering if you...

Ouch! Oh my word it hurts.

I know this is a late and obsolete reply, but it may help someone who is reading this. A few months ago, I had a splinter that stubbornly refused to come out, and I soaked it in hot salt water. I was amazed at how easily it came out after that. I've heard recommendations of Epsom Salt, but I...

    Is It True???

I'm sure there are many IBC's that would support and pray for your son. When my son was in Iraq, I appreciated every prayer that was prayed for him, and the members of our SB church prayed for him more than I will ever know. Your son can also have a loving church that will pray for him instead...

    Merged with another church before?

Wow! I'm glad that merger didn't occur! I'm sure God allowed this for a purpose. Y'all may want to be well-versed in your by-laws (which you may very well be). I've heard of preachers coming into a church and claiming to be CEO and Untouchable, Unaccountable Boss, and a good set of by-laws...

Yes, they can be remarkable sometimes.

    Witnessing to Jehovah Witnesses

How interesting. Years ago, when my son was 2 or less, two JW ladies came to the door and said it was pretty cold out there. I allowed myself to get into an argument with them, although it was very civil and not vicious or anything like that. This was almost 20 years ago and I was far less...

My voice is much deeper than you think.

I have a deep voice too, but certainly not the deepest I've ever heard. :) Richard, you can record your voice for us, ya know. Low voices are cool; can you sing bass?

    Calling all Louisianians....

I was at a satellite live televised showing of the Beth Moore Conference on the date that you wrote that post. It was held at our church, and we received word of a tornado warning in the area. I later heard that Bossier got hit.

    Beth Moore

I saw it, and it was great. We were having very bad weather, tornado warnings even, and only lost about 8 or so minutes of it when a heavy cloud got in the way. They said that about 150,000 women were watching. There were 4000 in the local church in Tyler where they were.

    Question to English Teachers.

Yeah, I use "one" sometimes in writing.

    Question to English Teachers.

I see now that "they' has been commonly used for longer than I thought. I'll continue to usually use he or she (one or the other, not the awkward combination of both), since that is also accepted, and I am most comfortable with it. However, even though I don't care for the sound of "they" as a...

    Question to English Teachers.

Okay Naomi and uh...Dwarf, I am looking up some things and hmm...learning some things. I'll get back to you probably later today. I have errands to run and a painting to finish.
