  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    being a parent

I think alot of my problem is that we are quite poor and always on a very strict budget so we can never get out and do much with the kids, we don't have money for 'date nights', or couple weekends aways, even for anniversary or birthday presents for that matter. We have never been away on a...

    mommy burnout [open]

I worked part time and that gave me a well needed break from the kids, I worked two late nights and one weekend day, that way husband could look after the kids so we didn't lose money with a sitter. Also we had al little bit extra money from my work (always a bonus). For me a mothers group was...

    hanging on by a thread

I have a two year old and I still have to put her in her room and walk away at times because I get so mad. I think the lack of sleep is a real killer. My daughter has only just begun to sleep right through the night (is nearly 3) and I have noticed with the extra sleep I feel so much better.

    being a parent

Being a parent is the most difficult thing I have ever taken on in my life. There are days when I would gladly go back to being childless. Today is one of those days. My children have the ability to bring out feelings in me that I never knew about. There are times when I just have to walk away...

    Children a burden??

hey orchard, you sound just like me as a kid, 'what's the point of dolls, their not real" ha ha, that was me. Anyway I actually have kids and found this an interesting thread to read. I always felt I would be child free when I was young but changed my mind when I got married. However I have...

    food/dinner question

ok, I'm the one that makes the dinner in our house (big surprise) but me and my husband like totally different foods. I like Asian style food (stirfried vegtables, curries etc), lots of salads, vegetables, more light food. My husband likes meat, pastas, pizza, fried food. If I cook up a stirfry...

    Lice....

whatever method you use you still have to go through systematically and take them out which is the time consuming part. Also you can buy anti lice shampoos that make the less likely the lice will want to go onto the hair in the first place. My aunty reckons to use anti dandruff shampoo does the...

    Hecklers: Jerks or Demonic Attacks?

You can be amazed what happens when you go and talk to 'hecklers'. Often they are teenage boys trying to prove they are 'cool' their mates, they aren't particularly even concerned with what you are saying.

    second child??

We have 3 and a half years between ours and that was perfect for us. My oldest was in kindergarten when the youngest came which gave me a break, and the oldest understood enough to know I couldn't get up right now when I was feeding. If you don't feel ready right now I would say wait.

    Lice....

same problem with our daughter. We tried all the chemical stuff but didn't work. Got some natural stuff which is a type of oil with peppermint, rosemary and other stuff in it, worked because it made it really difficult for the bugs to stay on and they didn't like the smell, but my daughters hair...

    Monsters in the room

Maybe try a nightlight in the room, also if they have a sibling maybe they can share their room for a while. When I moved our toddler to sharing a room with her big sister she (the big sister) stopped getting scared at night.
