  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Will Trump destroy the planet? (Climate change)

It's scary to think that someone is the leader of the free world and this person does not even believe in climate change and it's even scarier to see who he is appointing as his cabinet members.

If I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again am I permanently saved?

I believe that once you are saved, you can count on an eternity with God. People love to argue back and forth but Jesus made it clear. I do agree that a true believer will want to please God but we have the flesh to contend with and we can and so sin. Pride is often overlooked as a sin.

    Are Denominations Wrong?

I think all Christians are disciples of Christ and Christ is the head of our church. I don't think the intent of the early church was to have denominations. That is all our doing. I don't get wrapped up in the legalism of denominations.....and they all have their rules and specific...

Has the internet helped or hurt Christianity?

I think one of the worst witnesses is how Christians argue on the Internet. We come into contact with so many seekers and I think we should focus on what our common bond (eternal life through Jesus) is and stay away from differing theology, judgment, and arguing. If we could put our pride...

    Why don't protestants bless Mary?

There is only one High Priest who intercedes for us with the Father and that is Jesus Christ. He is God and He spilled his blood for us so He would be all we needed. Mary played an extremely important part in the life of Christ but she is in no way connected to our salvation nor part of any...

    Why don't protestants bless Mary?

OP - I pray to the Father in Jesus' name. I don't pray to anyone other than God and I don't ask for intercession from anyone other than Christ. I have respect for all the saints (both here on earth and in Heaven.) I have much admiration for the Mother of Jesus. I was raised Catholic.

Resist. Enjoy the two pets you have and try to get them trained to get along better. It can be done.

    Question about friends

First, I would pray for him and his other friends. Second, I would try to get him to do something with you....invite him over and tell him how you feel in a non-judgmental way. Third, make sure you have plenty of strong Christian friends to socialize with and, maybe, introduce him to some of...

    A Harsh Church

I think we must all remember THE church is us. We, the body of believers, are the church. Find Christians who are demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit. It doesn't matter if they are in a large building, a small building, or no building. Fellowship with them and you will be pleasing to God...

Pope Francis: love of money is idolatry

I think Pope Francis is on the right track, most of the time. He seems to really have a heart for the poor.

Is it okay to love metal as a Christian?

As long as you don't put it in your life as an idol or become obsessed with it, I would say it is OK. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus, keep Him as your Lord, and the Holy Spirit will guide you in these types of decisions.

From a Christian perspective, is it 'wrong' to watch horror films?

I don't think it's the wisest choice for a Christian, especially movies about demons. Maybe you can change it up this year and watch something more edifying.

    Loneliness

God bless you. I renewed my relationship with Christ last December and found a church home. It has been so very good for me. I was confined to my condo most of the time due to a disability. Now I have like-minded friends (I taught college so there weren't a lot of Christian women there). I...

Well OBOB, this is it. I'm being admitted for inpatient treatment within hours.

You are in my prayers. I was hospitalized for depression 15 years ago. They found the right combination of meds and therapy and I returned to work and felt so much better. Keep your eyes on the Lord.
