  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Tithing

Hi  Have you tried sitting down with your kids and explaining the principle behind tithing? Kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for and, in most cases, can prove more faithful in their service to God than most adults are. And don't forget to lead by example. For it is...

    Christianity In the Caribbean

And I forgot to respond to the original query. Well, the Lord has certainly been good! There are moments when I doubt - can't lie - but I know that He is with me, and that He knows all my struggles. I've recently been so blessed by the unexpected throngs of people who've just been coming out...

    Life Talk Radio

I do!! I do!!  I really love it! The music is great, and so are the talkshows - I love everything about it. When I had regular internet at home  I used to go to sleep on Sabbaths I would have it playing all night - great way to usher in the Sabbath when you haven't had...

    Building it up

If you mean growing numerically - yeah, it seems to be. We've had several baptisms so far. If you mean growing spiritually - well, God is the true discerner of the hearts and intents of His children, so He knows best (despite my desire to want to project my thoughts/'judgements' on people -;)...

    Building it up

Hi Wcwred , We had a similar experience within our church. A few years ago a handful of members within our church decided to expand our VBS ministry from a 3 hour/day for two weeks, to a summer program. Well, needless to say that many individuals within our church were not happy. Most of...

    Building it up

Hmmm, or church is relatively large but I've also been contemplating this question myself. After much thought and prayer, I came up with the following (maybe you'll find something applicable in the list): 1. What you have suggested so far sounds like a good place to start. Reaching out to the...

I actually had a similar thought, but I get the feeling that's not what the OP was requesting (lol). TyBear (Welcome!!!!), what kinds of stories are you looking for?

    Children's Choir

You're right - an action song such as that would send our pastor just a bit over the edge :D. We've used some of the songs from the cedarmont kids' albums, but given the choice the children prefer selecting songs that they've heard the youth choir singing. Apparently, many of them are more...

Me too. I actually thought it was about the film that bears the same title.

    Children's Choir

Our CC tends to do more traditional songs (our pastor isn't big on handclapping -lol- so we try to be as accomodating as possible). We'll sometimes use songs from the hymnal and try to jazz them up a bit though. It's sometimes difficult to find the right songs since our children range in age...

If God gave you what you wanted.

With regard to the OP, I've actually had to face that revelation myself. I would continually pray to God for the thing that I wanted, and would later wonder why He never blessed me with it. A few years ago I silently heard Him whisper into my heart the following: "if I give this to you, how...
