  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Feminism

Your comment about your heels was similar to many times when I've heard women complain about wearing heels. Women don't have to wear heels, so they shouldn't complain about how uncomfortable and difficult they are when it's their conscious choice to wear them. Then next part of the bold portion...

    Feminism

Don't start whining about your heels that you CHOOSE to wear.... Basically, men and women were meant to be different. They should not at all times be treated the same. There are times and situations when they are equal, and there are times and situations when they aren't. Both sexes tend to have...

    Okay, Ladies,

I think many women now don't have the same idea of what modesty is as men -or at least I- do. Most of the ladies I know love to show themselves off and "look cute." A friend of mine told me she got a dress and she specifically said that it was modest. When I saw it, I was disgusted. She showed...

We have the Constitutional right to marry?

Homosexuals have the same marriage rights that heterosexuals do. Both groups are allowed to marry a consenting adult of the opposite sex. Heterosexuals can't marry someone of the same sex any more than a homosexual can (I'm speaking, of course, in terms of the states which have not legalized...

Separated ~ is comfort sex wrong..

Okay, I will just say one last thing, then: I think God really is trying to make me understand some things better here. Today I opened my Bible seeking something in particular in Proverbs. The first words my eyes saw were "an unloved woman who is married." I backed up to the beginning of the...

Separated ~ is comfort sex wrong..

Once again, you misunderstand. Shall I not use Scripture in my conversation with you? I tried to find what I could that dealt with the subject at hand and presented it to you. I used Scripture because I don't have a definitive answer for you. I did not lean on my own arguments because I would...

    A Question regarding the Gospels

Ooh, good catch. I can't think of why on earth I didn't bother with the account of his conversion in Acts. I think the difference is that the Lord appeared to Ananias and told him to seek out Paul as well as telling Paul that Ananias would come to him. However, it does say that Paul did stay...

Separated ~ is comfort sex wrong..

I think you may misunderstand people's intentions. On the subject of our freedom in Christ: "Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God." (1 Peter 2:16) "You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful...

    A Question regarding the Gospels

Are you serious? (I'm assuming this was directed at least in part to what I said earlier, though I may be wrong since I haven't looked at this thread in a while.) I didn't say "don't have a spiritual father." I said that one shouldn't take what other people tell him without testing it against...

I Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always...

    A Question regarding the Gospels

I don't mean to open up a can of worms here or to start a heated debate, but, while I agree that elder believers are wiser than I and I should learn from them accordingly, don't try and tell me that I shouldn't read the Bible for myself. Don't tell me to sit back and take whatever a "Church...

    A Question regarding the Gospels

You don't necessarily need to be part of an "organization" unless you find that it helps you. Let me clarify, though, that you shouldn't just blindly accept what others may say about the Scriptures, which is why is it so important for you to read and study them yourself. Test and compare what...

    A Question regarding the Gospels

Oh, absolutely. It is of utmost important to study the Scriptures oneself and to pray about them. However, to try and go without help from other believers is folly. I'm not saying one needs one particular person to be one's spiritual mentor. Rather, one would do well to surround oneself with...

What is your favorite song to listen to in your darkest hours?

"Talmidim (The Servants)" - For Today "Distant Shores" - Five Iron Frenzy (This has a line that goes "If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor, dear Father, I will see you there on distant shores." I have to remember that every once in a while.) "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape" -...

    The Tree of Life

God only expressed his concern about the tree of life after Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Perhaps, then, Adam and Eve were not susceptible to physical death before eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Afterward, however, they were, but...
