    Huckabee

Personally, I'll be voting for Ron Paul. Come November, I don't know what I'll do. I think he's the only one I could conscientiously vote for. I'm still reeling that McCain will probably get the Republican nod. You couldn't have convinced me he'd be the front runner a few months ago....

I'm on board with this guy

I can handle that! I have to say, what he believes is VERY close to what I've come to believe, with the exception that I'm still calling myself a 'tentative' historic pre-mil. I have no issues with amils though, I just haven't wrapped my mind around eschatology enough to claim anything...

    Been a LONG time!

Hey all! It's been forever since I've been here. I saw when I logged in that my last visit was the middle of August! Wow, didn't realize it had been THAT long! Glad to see some familiar faces around here, and looking forward to maybe meeting some new ones. I've peeked into a few...

    Word of Faith

I've never been involved in WOF, but I found it interesting that a while back, my pastor actually took one Sunday during a series to speak about false prophets and named 3 false prophets in the church today(by name, no less! with pictures and examples of why they were false prophets :)~ ) and...

    Arminianism

Did you realize that James Arminius was a student of Calvin's, and after reading many of Calvin's writings on election and predestination he came up with a 5 point rebuttal to what Calvin taught? The scholars then came up with TULIP to disprove Arminius's 5 points, and THAT is how TULIP (or...

    Calvinism!

definitely not "originated" by Calvin. Calvin wrote quite a bit about election and predestination, but it wasn't until a long while after his death that the term "calvinism" became popular. and it's not a 'theory that individuals are predestined to be in or out of the church without any...

    a question...Reformed churches

Excellent points Woody...perhaps I shouldn't be so assuming.... I agree totally with everything you said. However, I must point out that I've never seen a website by a confirmed calvinistic church that sidestepped the issue in the way this churche's site does. Doesn't make them arminian...

    a question...Reformed churches

No, it's not a Calvinist church. I underlined the phrases that prove it. However, they don't seem to be fully arminian either--more than likely, they are sitting the fence, so to speak....

    Display of "cross" symbol

I"m not a big fan of crosses and symbols myself. I do have a wooden cross on the wall of my living room that my dad made; I think I have it more as a reminder of my dad and his love of woodworking than anything else! Used properly, I think the display of the cross can be full of meaning...
