  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    DUGGERS and 3 questions

If this were any other family, there would be no grey areas, only outrage. The fact is Josh, a 15 year old teenager (not boy or kid), a Freshman, ruined 5 little girls lives. Innocent tiny girls, asleep, safe in their beds, surrounded by family. Their brother sneaks in and molests them, they...

    Video Game - Sin ?!

Just remembered something:D When our kids were overwhelmed by anxiety, we'd have them play games. It was the combination of having to concentrate on the game and chat with their friends - the compulsive thoughts would lose it's hold. Not 100% of the time...:prayer: I think one of the biggest...

    Video Game - Sin ?!

Hi:wave: I see this from the view of a Mom - because I have 2 great kids with anxiety. They come to me with their thoughts - they are persistent, stuck in a loop in their minds. They usually find it not to be true - but it's there - the thought makes them doubt themselves, feel guilty. Or it...

    I was thinking...

I was thinking how relieved I was to finally find out my daughter had a diagnosis. After 7 nightmarish years of, "It's all in her head 'Undifferentiated Somatoform Disorder'" ~ finally a Psychiatrist who recognized the Disorders. Then, to my surprise - I had Bipolar type II, ADHD & PTSD...

The inevitable "big bad" happened, and I couldn't be happier

Congratulations That's probably not found in Miss Manner's book of Proper Etiquette : Response to the Recently Fired It's a serious Disorder and it takes its toll [especially when we hit The Depression cycles]. I am so happy you're able to get rest and make plans...

    What do you do?

An encouraging word ~ my grown kids : Son (22) and Daughter (19), have a different experience. They both have Bipolar type 2 (++++) & are very open. Their generation seems more likely to get diagnosed earlier and they know quite a few with Bipolar disorder. Infact, my son sent a tweet announcing...

    What do you do?

I know what you mean...I think : ) Personally, I'm a bit guarded, there's a stigma with Mental Illness. We tend to go directly to people hearing voices, psychiatric hospitals and straight jackets. When I tell people I have ADHD - ok, PTSD - understandable, and Bipolar type 2 - they question my...

Suffering from PTSD - Church (Lack of) Management is Trigger

Aryianna Sometimes in life, there aren't words that exist to say how sorry I am for the suffering you have/and continue to endure. I am in awe that you possessed the courage to end the evil by speaking out. I cannot even equate my experience to yours, but I have PTSD and I know my triggers...

Explaining PTSD to the Church When...

Unfortunately, that seems to be the reaction of many people, question your honesty, motive and behavior. Why we got PTSD - that's different for each person. What we share are these cruel accusations, that we were deserving, or "asking for it". I have gotten this from people in our neighborhood...

    Hi! Surprise, I'm new

Yikes! Well, Hi, everyone. I'm a 48 year old Christian, a wife for 28 yrs, & a Mom for 22. I will be praying like crazy, as I don't understand my I-pad (my kids confirm I'm hopeless). Infact, it's taken my alloted attention span to say, "Hello, I found you guys" (ADHD). Thank God in Heaven, I...
