    Put simply, morals are very subjective. What I find immoral (such as cheating on a spouse) others will find perfectly acceptable.

    I don't know how it works in Canada, but in Australia your old employer would have had to put a "non compete" clause in your employment contract to stop you going to "the opposition". If he hasn't, you can work for whomever you want.
