  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Aging and the Sanctity of Life

I work in a hospital and I've seen some very terrible things. People who are alive with 70% of their flesh burned off, kids who are brain dead from drug ODs and just salivate everywhere, and old people who can no longer take care of themselves. I see people on their death beds day in and out...

    All for ourselves?

I was getting off the interstate last week and saw a bum with a cardboard sign that read "Need money, Need Food... God Bless". Now I'm pretty stingy and I never give money to those guys, but the car in front of me did. It bothered me alot and I began wondering why those people gave him money...

    Buddhism in a Nutshell

It's soo hard to get a clear idea of Buddhism in general, because nobody practices just Buddhism. There are three main types and a whole variety that branch from those three. My Problem With Buddhism

Try to picture the image or person that defines Buddhism... A man sitting with his back to a tree, in deep meditation. The man is slowly relieving himself of his desires, his sensations, his senses... the world. He slips into a meditative trance, unaware of his surroundings. In this trance, he...

    Buddhism in a Nutshell

If you *want* to learn about Buddhism, perhaps you should start with learning about Buddha himself. The King Suddhodana, of Sakya Clan, was a very successful and liked King. He and his wife Maya had everything they wanted except a sole heir, a son. Maya has a dream one night that a white...
