  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Day of the Lord: Length and Chronology of

Hi, I have a two-fold query concerning the time and chronology element of the ‘Day of the Lord’: The first query concerns whether the Day of the Lord is a literal day or a period of time. On one level, it appears to be a literal ‘day’. For instance, Zechariah 14:6-7: ‘On that day there shall...

Where, How and In What Manner Did Prophets Carry Out Their Prophecy?

Hi, I have a question that applies especially to the Old Testament. I am curious as to the occasion and circumstances that surrounded the prophets of old proclaiming their respective prophecies to the people. In other words, we have lists of prophecies collected in their respective books, but...

Was It Possible Or Not To Keep the Law of Moses?

Hi, Doing a study on grace and the fulfilment of the Law at present, and wonder if someone can assist: some texts definitely state that it is not humanly possible to perfectly keep the Law. Thus Paul in Romans 7:14-23, 9:31-32, Peter’s words in Acts 15:10, that the Law was a burden that the...

Yahwism and Baalism in the Monarchic Period

Good day, I wonder if somebody could assist. I am curious as to the ‘relationship’ between Yahwism and Baalism during the monarchic period (from late-Solomon to the Exile). Evidently both religions existed together on-and-off for much of the monarchic period. However, was it the case that...

    Queries: What is Space, Gravity?

Dear all, Good day. Let me say first up that I am not a scientist, but have a fascination for certain aspects as I read deeper into, for instance, the evolution debate. I have two queries, both of which came to me in the course of the year. Forgive me if both my questions below are...

    Progression: Neanderthal to CroMagnon, etc.

Good day. I have a query, this time regarding the supposed evolution from proto-ape form through to Neanderthal and other various homo types and discoveries, to CroMagnon and then to man today. As I have indicated before, I am an Evangelical Christian, and this is part of an ongoing quest of...

Pagan Conversions: Forced or Peaceful? A Ratio

Hi, I have been conducting a great deal of research in church history recently, and have a query: What percent of Christian conversion of non-Christian peoples came about through peaceful witness, and what percent through the sword? From what I can deduce from my reading thus far, I think...

Thank you very much indeed, Quid est Veritas. Your research and prompt replies are much appreciated. I am currently researching the question as to at what precise moment various European countries became Christian, and am ideally seeking quotes, or at least something quotable, cementing the...

    Clovis and Remi: Quote Check

Good day, I wonder if anyone can help me. I am seeking the historical source of a quote. The quote is supposedly from St Remi, also known as Remigius, who uttered the following statement, actually a prophecy, over Clovis, first Christian king of the Franks, in 498AD. However, I have not been...

    Reincarnation

I cover the blind man of John 9 comprehensively in chapter 5 of my book; but my analysis of this text also appears in one of my videos, Short answer: the rabbis had a belief that a man could sin in his womb, i.e., before birth, but having nothing to do with a past life. This is well backed up...

    Reincarnation

I'm afraid the early church most certainly did not believe in reincarnation, In fact, many of the major fathers spoke specifically against it. I cover this in chapters 7 and 8 of my book 'Reincarnation in Perspective'. See...

    Homosexuality & Preference Options

Hi all, Unlikely as it may seem, surveys from across the world have confirmed that only 1-2% of society in virtually any given western country is gay. See, for example, ‘Homosexuality: An Issue for our Time’ by Gregory Rogers. Rogers provides ample evidence from leading studies in about 15...

    Dinosaurs to birds: Queries

Hi all, I have posted to the creation-evolution forum a few times before, this in an ongoing attempt to sort out the debate in my mind once and for all. For my third posting I have a question regarding the idea of dinosaur-to-bird evolution. The pro-evolution argument runs (unless I am...

Adaptation or Evolution? On Platypuses, Tadpoles, and Flying Fishes

Thanks Papias. I have downloaded all pages of the 'talkorigins' document - altogether it looks like a short book in itself. It looks most enlightening, and will get to it as soon as I have finished 'Darwin's Doubt' by Stephen Meyer, which I bought off amazon the other day. Incidentally, what...
