  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Questions about Christian analogies

Wow. I didn't know it was so wrong to ask something like this. And I certainly didn't think I was mocking God. These questions arose from my re-reading of the Bible. I've been working through the Old Testament again. It doesn't shy away at all from using sexual language to describe certain...

    Questions about Christian analogies

Apparently hardcore literalism isn't the only base it can come from because I'm not a literalist, and I come from neither a strict fundamentalist nor atheist background. Maybe I just think differently. Maybe I've just gotten a little bolder in questioning things to really understand the Bible...

    Fornication definition

Maybe it isn't so easy to see whom Paul is talking to and what he's talking about. You're saying that this is speaking to unmarried people telling them to get married to avoid sexual immorality. I've always understood this passage to be talking to married people. I guess it comes down to how...

Insight for those worrying about masturbation

Why are sexual thoughts sinful? God has thought about sex, hasn't He? He made our bodies, He designed sex, He's seen more nudity, sex, and masturbation than any porn addict, yet He remains a pure, holy God. Yet, if a person has any sexual thought they're condemned for it. If it's sin to have...

    A very moving video

I had a feeling that's the video you were linking to before I opened it. I've seen a few threads about it. Definitely a good vid.

Do any of you want to be single all of you life?

I'm single, never been on a date, and never been kissed, as well. At this point if my life I don't want to get married, but I have a lot of living to do, so I may change my mind later, I don't know. At this point I just like having the freedom to do what I want to do, when I want to do it.

    I have never ever ever

I've never licked a spark-plug and I've never sniffed a stink bug and I've never painted Daisies on a big red rubber ball and I've never bathed in yogurt and I've never been to Boston in the fall

    problems with masturbation

Agreed. Since the passage is talking about adultery, the lusting that is talked about is coveting - desiring to take what belongs to someone else. I don't understand how just thinking about sex or someone while masturbating is lust. Lust would be the desire to actually go after women (or...

    Procrastinate...

I actually don't procrastinate that much. The main thing that I do put off, though, is cleaning. My bedroom and my desk always seem to have stuff piling up and I always put off tidying them up. Oh, and my bedroom light burnt out a few months ago and I still haven't gotten replacement bulbs...

Is sex is only for procreation?

Many early Christians believed sex was only for procreation. It was seen as a necessary evil. They even made sex as uncomfortable as they could when they had it. I believe that was called ascetism - the belief that enjoying pleasure would send you to hell. Of course, this isn't Biblical...

Fashion rant: blue jeans with white sneakers.

I'm thinking I like white shoes and I like blue jeans. :P That's what I like so that's what I wear. I don't really give a hoot about what may be considered fashionable or not, that's just my preference so I wear it. I don't think it looks bad.

How many hours do you sleep?

Three nights a week I go to bed between 10 and 11 and get up anywhere between 5:25 and 6:20, depending on what time the boss wants to start work. The other four nights I go to bed around 12 and get up around 8. So, I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep.
