  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are we alone in the Universe? Could there be life on other planets?

I can see no reason why bacterial or animal life shouldn't exist on other planets after all earth is teeming with life. Could there be other intelligent life out there? Who knows according to the Bible heavenly beings exist and they seem to have intelligence. If I guess Genesis 2 is the...

    So I have this series....

I'm on the side of stay true to the story. If the story needs gore then include it. I do come up against opposition but my general reply is the bible is full of people being decapitated, eyes gauged out and brutal murders amongst other things.

What Does the Christian Book Market Need?

I'd be all for it. I love to get feedback as early as possible. I even pay my editor after the first chapter. The idea of writing 100,000 words and then finding something doesn't work doesn't appeal. Away from that fear I think character drives story so if I am changing aspects about the...

    The Passover.

I think you are right. I can't believe that God would send his own son to die so lets get rid of that. Would a loving God impose rules? Surely he loves us no matter what so lets get rid of the 10 commands. I mean we've got rid of Salvation so its no big deal. Anyone can do anything they...

What Does the Christian Book Market Need?

Thanks @Kerensa and @AlexDTX for the encouragement I'll be sticking with the stories and probably go down the kdp route. In general I'd like to see Christian literature push a few boundaries. The Bible deals with a lot of issues that we willfully brush over in the Bible but rebuke in literature.

What Does the Christian Book Market Need?

It's really difficult if you want to write for the Christian market and have what I'd call realism. I have two novels in development and both are hitting problems with content. The first is a redemption story but I am getting told I am glorifying unGodly things (drug taking mainly). My...

Did you have a platform or start from scratch? Most things I read are that you need to build a list to be successful in amazon.

    KDP Authors

Do we have many authors on here who have self published? What was your experience like? I am hoping to publish my first novel in October and would appreciate some tips and advice. Thanks in advance. Eric

Sorry Flat Earthers. Space X Takes Picture of Earth

How many civilisations have believed the earth was flat? The greeks, chinese, sumarians, Hebrews all talk about and depict a globe. Many were even aware of the solar system. The flat earth theory seems revisionist but I'd fiscally be pointed towards proof that people ever though the earth was...

    Pitching to Publishers

I pray it goes well for you on Monday. Just beware it's not the end of the journey not matter what the outcome. I'm busy with my first novel and know how emotionally involved it gets.

What is the best Christian movie you ever seen?

I was terrified when I first watched them. I guess it's just very much of its time. I was also really disappointed with the end of Patty's journey. Felt it was a bit throw away after being emotionally invested for two movies.

What is the best Christian movie you ever seen?

Pureflix have some really good stuff. It's just a shame there on demand service isn't in the uk. I enjoyed encounter it was very twilight zone. Blink of an eye was fun to watch as well. I recently rewatched the thief in the night series and was disappointed at how they held up. Distant thunder...

Talk about a dying forum. Anyone watching DC Comic's "Lucifer Morningstar" on Fox?

I enjoyed the first season (haven't seen season 2 yet). Thought it was generally harmless and quite fun. I'm many ways it's a more biblical approach to the character than you normally see.
