  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christianity's new shining star Erwin McManus and the emerging church.

God already told us! Often when people try "rewrite" what God already has written we end up with different gods. These "new revised" bibles more often contain personal bias and world views instead of "God Views". God left us a church which He gave authority to decide on matters of faith...

    A question

If you're talking about: Mat 12:31 Therefore I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven. " This is a blasphemy against Gods gift "the holy spirit". It's not a name calling sin, it's a sin to deliberately refuse to accept...

    Do you?

I believe we have soul mates, whether it's just one or a whole bunch I'm not sure? Personally I wouldn't be happy being single without a soul mate my whole life. Love is incompleteness in absence, i.e. I would feel lonely.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Don't stress, marriage is you're choice, God loves you and for some unknown reason lets you make up your own mind. Sometimes I get the feeling God wants me to be a nun and it does scare me, but it's up to me, God walks with you not behind you poking you in the back.

    huh?!?

Yes, unfortunately I think you can "just loose it" if it was a distance attraction as apposed to strong love. Love is like a bond, and the feeling of "potential love" is just that, "potential" you aren't stuck with it. If you think you going to regret not trying, then throw worries about...

    Would you?

His sexuality is between him and God, you can't judge him. Although I do think that it is a possibility that he is really gay and has forced himself to believe other wise... Which is why dating is so great, you'll find that out soon and see if there is a love both emotional and sexual between...

    crying....

Job loved God and God loved Job. Seriously, read the book of Job and you'll understand that life is about trials not rewards and you'll get a glimpse of why these things happen - you're not alone ;)

    Advice, please?

You have to have a serious talk with him about it, get all the questions out and make a decision together. The responsibilty to abstain is from both of you. Also, you're 19, why don't you live with you're parents?

In the Name of the Father

That sounds really impressive, do you know the aramaic version?

Which version of the Bible do you read??

Yes, there are huge diffeences between the bibles, it might not look like it but words have been manipulated to change whole meanings, not to mention words and sentences being lost altogether. The Douay Rheims is the closest translation as it hasn't got any added words or removed sentences.

    Gnosticism

Gnosticism is a man made belief custom designed for what he wants, not God. Mat 12:30 He that is not with me, is against me: and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth. There's no nice way to put this, when it comes to faith there's good and evil, lukewarm would be worse than evil.

    Are soldiers evil?

enough said;) I guess if you are killing innocent people not other soldiers then yes, that's wrong and is considered evil, but not if you defending yourself country etc etc

Looking for a new Bible. I have some questions.

I'm not sure which bible you used to have, but yes, there are huge differences in bibles. The most accurate bible which as no "added words" is the douay-rheims bible which I would sugguest you use.
