  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    McCain support

Watched John and Sarah on Hannity & Colmes tonight. I would certainly sooner entrust this wonderful country of ours to them than to Obama & Biden.

Prayers for a possiblity of MS...

In 1989 I, too, had an episode at work which was almost diagnosed to have been a stroke, but was eventually diagnosed as MS. I hope your cousin has been correctly diagnosed, whatever the diagnosis is, and is being properly treated.

Is God really in control of everything?

I believe you err when you say "He can't.......". God chose to give mankind free will rather than have us be no more than a bunch of robots. He chooses not to go against His Word and He chooses not to override man's will. God is the sovereign God of the world, omnipotent (having full authority...

    Changed Words

In the case you give, they certainly are reading it literally in one sense, but, IMHO, a very shallow sense. If they believe the hymn is talking about physically getting to one's feet, they have missed the whole message of the hymn. Sad! :sigh:

Anybody here listen to the Gaither Homecoming videos?

I remember the skit you're talking about, but not which video it's on. Sadly I don't have most of the early Gaither videos. I love these videos, also. Don't care to watch them on TV much, though, because of all the advertising. :)

    Is War A Sin?

I, too, believe Saddam had WMDs not just because GW Bush et al told us so but because the WORLD has believed it and told us so for 12 years after the Gulf War. GW Bush's big mistake was in telling Saddam we were coming and then waiting months to do so, giving Saddam all the time in the world to...

    Is divorce... EVER an option?

So many of us were not Christians when we got married and, to be honest, got married for all of the wrong reasons -- physical attraction, most likely. The world teaches us that, if it doesn't work out, we can throw it away and try again. Statisticians tell us 57% of marriages of people who...

john kerry and barbara Boxer vote against Condi Rice

I would be interested in hearing how you think the administration has stolen Iraq. It would take a lot of Iraqi oil to pay back everything this war is costing us, and it certainly doesn't appear that they're flooding the US market with Iraqi oil. We haven't made Iraq our 51st state, a colony...

    Is War A Sin?

It seems to me that whether or not war is a sin depends on your reason for going to war. If it is an honorable reason then it's not a sin. If it is for selfish reasons then of course it is a sin. I personally believe Bush's reason for going to war in Iraq was to relieve Iraq of an evil dictator...

    Is War A Sin?

I would have to guess that anybody who chose to live in Fallujah might very well be sympathetic with the insurgents there and this article written by Dahr Jamail confirms that, to me, at least. Either that or, for some reason, the Iraqis thought we were going to fight their insurgents with...

    Pleasant greetings everyone.

I'm a newbie here, too. I'm a genealogy "nut", almost a senior citizen and spend a lot of time on the computer. I'm still a little  about how to use this forum, but I'm sure I'll learn in time.
