Hi Jimtem
Grab another drink, this one is long too....(btw: it's been some time since I wrote anything in English so it might be "rough").
I'm from a country that is through and through catholic. My parents are both atheists but because of social pressure they were made to baptise...
maybe that is enough?
Sometimes God makes something good out of our mistakes.
Well that is no help, isn't it?
When I read your post i had an impression you are "heart-wise" person. Maybe simply trust your self. I have a feeling you "know" what your brother needs.
I believe that God is Love - so much bigger then my understanding and my sins. Yours also for a matter of fact.
He will forgive you whatever you have done. But I think that you also need to forgive yourself....
you are in my prayer :)
Hi RosemaryChildAtHeart
Welcome to CF. Glad you found it :)
Peer/social pressure and that whole world that is telling us what to do...well that is hard and always will be.
But you will never be happy until you will walk your way. It takes a lot of strength and some courage but that is...
i can't imagine life without it!!! Calls, chats, works on pc and mac, almost everyone has it (at least here...)
I'm living now in other country, I don't know what I would without it. Probably die of homesickness.
Salam Janisarius :)
Only one argument and you are back? And what about Islam???
Can i ask you one question? Why did you come here? Are you seeking you way once again? Or just trying to make yourself sure of the choice you've already made?

that's probably what he was doing
but what are you asking from us?
Should i say that people are much more keen to fight for symbols than for other people (especially those "different")?
Or that nobody likes to "attack" those who are "our"?
Or that...
No. I trust that in the (very) end all pain, mistakes and faults will find their place in His plan. That even with our free will and inclination to destroy He will find a way to make human history whole.
As you probably already know, negative standing on abortion and homosexuality is NOT a Christian belief. It is just common moral judgment held by Christians. By joining the "club" you are not asked to leave you morality outside and accept everything you are being told.
The rule in the "club" is...
the first semester is the hardest one. Other may be difficult but first...er...is first. I know it's not the best advice but this time don't care so much for grades. Now it's the time to learn the ropes, get to now people, settle down in new place.
And many students have a little break down by...
I think you were speaking about this:
now a bit more grown up part ;) : my parents are both atheists, so your question is quite important to me also. I have no good answer. Once i was told that if i put myself in His hands, than maybe I should put my loved ones also there.
Maybe you should look...
my parents are atheists (agnostics when they are in good mood). But they baptized me and made me attend religion classes (what made me aggressive atheists some time ago). Now I'm kind of "black sheep".in family ;) They don't feel "comfortable" with my faith but try to be as supportive us they can..
My father was working in other city since i was 13. he was coming back for weekends only. So he wasn't "there" very often. i thought that he didn't know me at all. I was quite angry about him choosing this very well-paid job over being with us on daily basis.
But then when i was very sick, he...
